i never said they were crap i just said they had a cheap feel to them. Some of the best guns are poly (glocks, cz, hk, ect)

theres just something to be said about holding and shooting a nice steel gun (1911 for example)

i was wondering this based on photos...can you flip the safety while the hand is on the grip?

I heard the DA is heavy but super smooth....i just dont like the idea of shooting the first shot DA...will most likely not be an accurate shot from distance. Much better to keep it cocked with safety flipped, and SA

also one more question...do steel slide weapons needs to be lubed more than poly?

Steel weapons require zero lube. When you buy it, wipe all the factory grease off and then go shoot as is. Steel on steel works best when 100% dry.

bullcrap! all guns require grease or oil to fully operate. However an AK would require less than say an M16

so my question is do steel ones require more than poly?

well i know the slide is steell..but for example glock makes them with a polymer shell

anyways, i dont get the hate on all steel guns. or external safeties..doesnt it all come down preference anyways?

dude, truth is polymer guns are better for carry, but stainless steel has its advantages as well...they will hold up better long term and since they are heavier there is less recoil.

You also need to distinguish grips vs chassis. Polymer is fine for the grip, but not the chassis. Glock for instance will use Steel inserts on the chassis, Kahr the same at the stress point. Take the Nano and Pico, solid Stainless Steel throughout the gun and build like tanks. Forget a aluminum chassis on a gun that you plan to put a lot of ammo down range. The Military does not buy cheap aluminum guns.

Wrong. Polymer frames will literally go like...for ****ing ever due to the way the polymer absorbs shock/recoil assuming no defects when it was injection molded are something not right with the polymer blend. Steel or stainless frames WILL crack at some point. Might be 60,000 rounds, might be 160,000. But it's going to crack or fail in some way eventually.

Edit: They will last longer if you don't lube them though.

Even if the election goes well for Rights and Liberties, pricing may not come back to where it is now or if it does it probably won't be for another year at least so...buy now.

Prices have never been this good for AR15 style rifles and accessories. So, if there was a time to "buy one cry once" and simultaneously buy it cheap and stack it deep, this is it.


$1,500 is a pretty big budget if that's forjustthe rifle. If it's for the rifle, mags, ammo, optic, sling, light...not so much.

A Colt 6920 has long been the benchmark. The gold standard. It's not the best, but it's the standard by which others are measured and functionally it is rock solid. The one you linked is out of stock though, recent availability has been unpredictable because of Colt's financial woes, apparently.

Consider a <$1k new Colt 6920 or assemble your own rifle (with a complete upper and complete lower it's not even assembling it's less work than opening the box to put an upper on a lower) from parts as places commonly sell complete uppers and then you buy a complete lower separate or buy a stripped lower and build the lower out (pretty easy to do).

Still reading? If you're talking about spending $1,500+, you should still be reading. Forjust the rifleconsider a complete bravo company upper or a complete Geissele super duty rifle or a complete Daniel Defense rifle. Hell just buy an LMT because why not?
