Yea and I emailed them last week I think just to see when it might ship and they had a smart ass response like, “you checked a box acknowledging it may take 8 weeks to ship.”

Like ok yea I did, but that doesn’t mean I can’t ask if you have an ETA. I don’t care how many orders you get, 8 weeks is crazy. Maybe stop sending boxes of chocolate and chit to everyone and worry about handling the business.

Harmonica. What are your impressions of it compared to everything?
I like it better than my G19 the more I shoot it. Pretty much my standard carry for winter now.

buy some kind of imported AK, dont mess with domestically built AKs.

a WASR 10 is a much better use of your money than any american built AK

Soo..
-You acknowledged that it might take up to 8 weeks to ship
- You let ~3 weeks go by before asking when it would ship

Yeah, I'd respond with a dumb comment too. People asking where their **** is when you're well within a quoted time just slows things up that much more.

Maybe but he probably would have said, “you don’t need phuckin triggers and other goddamn bullchit. You need some phuckin training! I know when you ask me dumbass questions like this you don’t have any training!”

For Christmas, my 11 year old son wanted to get me a set of VZ Grips for my 1911. He (and his stepmom) ordered them hoping there was an option for expedited shipping so they would be here by Christmas Eve. When he checked out, there wasn't.

So he sent them an email asking when they thought they would be delivered, they were a Christmas present for his daddy, etc. They two day aired them to him (at their cost) to make sure he had them on time. That is some decent customer service.

I posted in the MFC thread exactly a year ago about how I was applying for my pistol permit. Guess what?

I was approved and got it yesterday! Absolutely ridiculous wait time, but I'm glad I have it. Should have done it a long time ago.

Didn't do a ton of research yet on which handgun I'd like because I didn't want to get my hopes up in case I got denied, but one that I was looking at with interest is the Smith & Wesson M&P9c. Any thoughts/suggestions? I'll be using the gun strictly for home defense and target practice; this is not a CCW license so whether the pistol is carry-friendly or not won't matter to me unfortunately.

So why a compact?

S&W M&P in a super commie state with no carry?https://grabagun.com/smith-and-wesso...wesson-43.html

Also, for home defense a semi auto rifle or shotgun would be more effective

arsenal sam7 is bad ass, i have one and love it. the milled receiver AKs have a stock which is sloped slightly downward comparred to the stamped sheet metal variants. this will reduce cheek slap.

btw, heres one option for an AK. this was assembled by atalntic firearms, but it was built with millitary surplus parts meaning its basically the same thing as an imported AK (almost)

https://www.atlanticfirearms.com/pro...-aam-rom47-red

heres a WASR for $700 before tax.

https://www.atlanticfirearms.com/pro...-62x39mm-rifle

heres an imported RPK which is the light machine gun variant of the AK (semi auto only, of course)

https://www.atlanticfirearms.com/pro...b-century-arms

or if you want to spend more money heres a 308 galil

https://www.atlanticfirearms.com/pro...-rifle-7-62x51

forgot to mention these. the galil may not look as AK'ish as youd expect but its an Israeli variant on the AK design. basically upgraded and overall a better rifle. they also come in 5.56 and 7.62x39

I like the idea of a smaller handgun even if I can't carry (note I say idea because I was not legally allowed to even brush a finger against a handgun until yesterday, let alone hold and fire one). So I have some research to do, but the m&p stood out to me from some videos I saw.

I have 2 shotguns and a rifle already, so the pistol would be more for target practice but would want an effective one for a home defense scenario regardless.

Also, I'm sure that 8 week lead time is also because they likely purposely oversell products and 8 weeks buys time to get them in production, etc and meet their 8 week ship time. SO if you happeend to order something actually in stock you probably got lucky and got it shipped already. Otherwise, you're probably waiting longer.

Whatever the reason IDGAF as long as they are up front about it.

And I don't expect them to try to come up with ETA's for all the impatient people that bother them about it, that is just a waste of time that pushes everything backandit would give them another thing they might miss and get people whining about if they gave a shorter ETA but then didn't make it. It's, like, a lose-lose-lose if they take the time to give individual ETAs

how does the AK74 compare to the AK47 ? 5.45 vs 7.62

also, how does the accuracy on your arsenal compare to accuracy of a high end AR 15 ?

There’s a difference between complaining and asking for an ETA. I asked for an ETA. All you gotta say is, “We are working through orders and will ship ASAP.”

youre right, collect and admire 20" A1s, also good for outdoor shooting from 100 - 300 yards. obviously not the best option for clearing a house.

I've got a lot of history with an A1. I would be happy to own all but one of them I had assigned to me (with the exception of my rifle in Infantry School which had the barrel shot out of it and wouldn't hit a pie plate at 100 yards).

Dafuq is up with gas cans nowadays??? All my old gas cans hold gas . . . and have a simple spout with a cap. I needed to go get some more non-ethanol gas for the snowblower and the station that carries it is about 30 mins away. I got about halfway there and realized I forgot my gas can (was also running a few other errands). No big deal--there's a Walmart and a Harbor Freight on the way to the station. Figure I'll just pick up a spare can and have it on hand.

A 2 gal container at HF and Walmart is like $16??? And they all have these goofy safety/zero-emission spouts and crap. What the hell? I figured a container would be about $10 max. I see the general idiocy of the population and environmental potato strikes once again.

Yeah, but what people don't understand is they aren't the only one looking for an ETA. You and probably hundreds of others are bothering about it too. One person asking for an ETA might not sound time consuming, but when it's hundreds of people like they're dealing with, it's not hard to see how they're literally burning hours per week to reply to emails about something you've already been told about, and agreed to before ordering.
