yeah "gender confirmation surgery" is code word for genital mutilation. Not sure how modern medicine considers the procedure legitimate. Most surgeons are considerably more hardworking and more intelligent than the average guy on the internet, but somehow the internet is correct that the procedure is taking advantage of the mentally ill and in turn mutilating the genitals.

Sex-reassigned persons also had an increased risk for suicide attempts (aHR 4.9; 95% CI 2.9–8.5) and psychiatric inpatient care (aHR 2.8; 95% CI 2.0–3.9). Comparisons with controls matched on reassigned sex yielded similar results. Female-to-males, but not male-to-females, had a higher risk for criminal convictions than their respective birth sex controls.

There's not. In a lot of places it's 1:1.

Ftm who pass as men are usually seen as men and ftm who don't pass are seen as butch lesbians. It's the reason that they aren't as visible.

The obvious reason is that the default state of human is female so developmental abnormalities probably bias things to be more female like.

You need high T levels or something kind of like T binding to start the changes and become more "male like".

Males are basically upgrades to females. If the upgrade process didn't complete, then u get these kinds of situations.

Lets be real here, the only real medicine for these people would be a bullet to the head.

Nothing can fix someone that far gone.

The best solution is the least costly solution to society.

So the question becomes: is it more or less of a financial burden to treat their mental illness than it would be to lob off their johnsons and have them live their deranged lives out until the likely statistical outcome of suicide happens?

I've seen that study. Note that they are comparing suicide rates to normal human controls and not trans who didn't transition. There are many more studies showing improved QOL. Doctors looked at this and weighed the risks and benefits.

That still happens, and from what I've seen that's actually the majority of biological men who identify as trans women. But there's money to be made in people who transition. You're ensuring a person is hooked on medications, endocrinologists, etc. for a lifetime. I had a suicidal woman years ago who had been fighting for a breast reduction for years, she could not walk without tremendous pain. But none of the medical insurances she's had over the years covered it because its considered cosmetic and unnecessary. I'm certain if she claimed to be have a man brain (which doesn't exist by the way, I see neurosexism is alive and well on the misc) they would give her a free breast reduction before she kills herself in dysphoric despair.
