Good ol' existential crisis. Most of my identity has been zeroed out. Hard reset.
For me it is hard to maintain a consistent identity after too much time spent in struggle with existential topics. It becomes more fluid, undefined, and unreliable. There is a difficulty stemming from the feeling of nothingness/inevitability.

I would agree it's as simple as just being lazy if I wasn't the only person I know who's worked 4-500 hour months for 3-5 months in a row. It all comes back to insecure people sabotaging me through lies.

Edit: Immortal Technique has a verse that goes, "I pray for the life of any man who kills benevolent ones." This is to say that those who kill or sabotage people who would go on to do great things, will receive a negative karmic justice equal to the positive that they took from the world holding benevolent people back. Those who believe karma is a myth, aren't paying close enough attention.

Edit2: In the end, Don't say chit about people that wouldn't want said about you and don't do chit to people that you wouldn't want done to you. Pretty fuking simple IMO. Might be too complicated for some to grasp though. Those "some" are injustice personified as injustice and ignorance are one in the same.

"If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken, Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools" Those knaves and fools are the bane of my existence, I tell ya. lol

Hard knocks and now I'm alone.
My values were formed due to what I survived, so I can't compromise on them, but I recognize that they sometimes keep me isolated.
Someday I will find some folks to be with.

Pretty much this. The thing is, part of me wants to fix but the voice in my head most day just doesn't give a f*ck and wants to rot/not change it. It's a constant battle between wanting to improve and being self-destructive.

For me it was being too open with others. I would always readily tell people what i was doing and what my plans were. And then alls that happened was i would get criticism, opinions and everything torn down by others which basically destroyed my path. Now ive finally learned to not reveal my plans to others. Maybe some things to very close friend but thats it.

I've got some analysis paralysis boyo, especially now that I'm in school and trying to get good grades.

I'm average a 3.9 right now and doing what I need to for my goals in medicine, but you remember my idea about the soccer podcast? I stalled on it because I started worrying that it would take up too much time from school. My goals for building my own content/business have always been second to my job or school.

I need to just TRY IT and see how it goes before thinking about it too much.

I once knew this black guy who had a huge dink (nohomo) and he broke down crying hysterically when we were out drinking.
It turns out, it was so big that he was still a virgin at 23, no one had been able to take it (srs)

I had a gambling addiction. It got to the point of where I was feeling anxious whenever I didn't go back. Decided enough was enough and not planning on going back. I'll get myself excluded if I have to at this point.

Another koala tea post from DS.

For me:
Being mentally brainwashed as a child
Bad decisions limiting future opportunities
Not taking advantage of opportunities when young

That's the cause of most of it. Turning chit around though. Will have AA this Spring, a good career on the horizon, and options. Was late to the game, but damn well making sure my kids won't make the same mistakes I did.
Virtue is its own reward.

My current problem right now is that I see problems much more easily than I see solutions, and I tend to very much be a one-track grinder. If the first solution I see doesn't work, I don't look for a new solution, I spin my wheels or give up.

My grad program doubled this down - I was way in over my head in some VERY difficult courses with classmates who were allfarbetter than me. They smoked me on literally everything. If I studied a week straight for a test, I'd score in the bottom 10% of the class. If I said screw it and only studied the night before, I'd score in the bottom 10% of the class. I basically fell into a feeling of helplessness - I'm going to bomb this class, there's nothing I can do about it, and the only thing that will determine if I pass or fail is how the prof decides to curve at the end. And in that particular situation, that really was the truth.

But even after I've switched labs into an easier topic, that throw-my-hands-in-the-air attitude has bled over for six months now into my other work. My experiment doesn't produce results? Fuk it, it's not going to work, nothing I can do about it. My advisor has got on my ass several times about not being active enough in research, and honestly, he is right. I'd either see a bunch of potential issues with some approach and not even try it, or I'd just keep plugging away on something that I knew wouldn't work and not get anything to show for it.

Basically, if research is like having to break through a brick wall to solve a problem, I hit the wall a few times, go "fuk that's hard", and give up. Both that mental agility and the can-do attitude needed to find a new way around it just aren't there. And when you're working in a field where people pay you to solve problems, that's an issue.

Lol that is 100% wrong bruh i am 6'5-6'6 and everywhere i went i had no problems making friends especially male friends (tbh i dont really find it interesting to hangout w females). This is 100% on your social skills / personality and has nothing to do with you being tall.

For me health issues have definitely held me back.

He is 100% finding excuses when its clear that his personality is the problem...ie not being able to relate to people and possibly mental issues where he believes people talk **** about him / don't like him because of his height... this is absurd.

I think most humans do this if they are not happy about something in their life they will find something often times unrealistic things to blame. How many times have we seen miscers blaming not being able to get girls on baldness or being short when there have been billions of people on this earth that had been short and or bald that were able to find a partner get married and have kids. Even right now on ******** i have friends that are fully bald or very short that are in relationships yet if you read the misc it would seem that if you are bald and/or short its over for you.

This sounds to me like the natural consequences of being short on "wins". It's something of a catch 22 because you need wins to improve your mental state, but your current mental state makes the chances of winning less likely.

I have the same problem, I think all "overthinkers" do, because when you think about it really hard there really is no "purpose". But I guess we have to be fine with that and enjoy life as much as we can

I have found that small goals work better for me than big goals, just day to day stuff

What do you mean about your personality?
Identity? I think it is normal to build our identity mainly on the roles we play and labels that fit us. They do change over time (child > adult > parent > grandparent) and when it is a gradual process traveling in the expected direction it feels natural. Some changes are chosen and some are random.

I've been hit with a lot of changes in a fairly short time. One is hurting more than the rest.

I may have more real freedom than at any prior point in my life. At the same time I'm very constrained because I also have fewer resources. And I'm very tired and struggling with anemia and depression besides.

I understand this. Sounds more like philosophical existential struggles from when I was younger.

Lazy for me is when I know I should be working towards bettering my future but I rather just chill.

1. I know I want to get deeper into cybersecurity/programming. On my free time I should be playing around in linux, learning python, etc. I end up watching stuff on netflix or playing my video game. That to me is laziness/not motivated enough.

Everyone I know who is successful spent all their free time learning and perfecting their craft. I have issues doing that.

Duty which I'm not ashamed of at all. I could be more but I'd have to disappoint people that depend on me

Pain. I always have some form of physical pain from either my skin or joints from autoimmune issues

Survivor's guilt. I did a lot of really messed up stuff and was able to get away without seemingly any consequences when other people that were doing the same stuff wound up dead or in jail
