"She thought she wasn't good enough if she wasn't getting loads of likes". It's pixels being generated by people who you'll never meet and would not sleep 1 hr less if anything happened to you. It's sad but she obviously had some massive mental issues, her addiction and dependence on social media just brought them out. Now we'll get a thousand psychologists trying to tell us how it was everything else but her internal issues.

She's not great looking, kinda average girl next door, but for a british chick she's definitely up there. I don't know why UK chicks are so fugly, lack of sun, weird features, fuct teeth. JFL to me means Junior Football League. Pop Warner is before that and then flag football. I am going to guess that is not what JFL means here.

It took me years to see the effects but I completely agree.
Instagram fuqs up the mind just as much as porn does.
People who brows Instagram on a regular basis is living in a whole other realm, they are completely fuqed up without them even knowing it.

I have so many examples.. But sadest one is seeing one of my best mates of 10+ years becoming more and more fuqed up because he could not stop browsing and comparing himself with the fake models etc.

People who use this platform regularly should try not to take it so seriously- the "likes," followers, competition, comparisons to digital images, etc... I'm sure they are not just "competing" with virtual strangers; they are competing with BFFs (that can be rough!), peers from school, top personas or leaders in an industry, etc... It's the expectation, addiction/conditioning or way of trying to get validation that CAN, but not always, lead to increased anxiety or a lack of contentment (peace of mind?) for young people who aren't in the right state of mind...for whatever reason. Everyone deals with problems outside of social media, and lots of times these platforms do not help to reduce, or solve any pre-existing problems, disorders, obsessive traits or illnesses... I am sorry about your best mate! He must know he's comparing himself to photoshopped pics. That's not the whole issue, IMHO. He MAY, or may not, have some form of BDD (that has to be diagnosed by a qualified psychiatric professional), or he's been conditioned to feel that he has to look like a cartoon superhero- like some, but NOT all men. It's hard on men in this way, IMO (again, very high standards in the general media).
Fact: My first-generation uncle was a boxer who fought Sugar Ray Robinson! He also fought in the war, sacrificing the career he deeply loved, so people could have the right to freedom.

Let's show RESPECT for the POLICE and ALL FIRST RESPONDERS by helping to keep THEM SAFE AND SOUND, and thereby able to PROTECT US!
