Great fight by Conor was expecting an early KO but not like that. I was also surprised he didn't call a single fighter out and just said everyone could get it.

Honestly though I feel like Cowboy was probably the easiest matchup Conor could have gotten out of all the elite fighters in 55 and 70.

He did exactly what he needed to do and slightly more due to head kicking him and people were murmuring about Cerrone potentially head kicking him as one of the more likely potential things he could do.

But instead of there even being a war of attrition, Conor proved once again what makes him savage above the level of what is average in a fighter.

It probably went the best it possibly could have for him as a best case scenario.

It also even makes the Aldo knockout more legit in hindsight because it’s almost like yet another alternate example of the magic he can create in the ring sometimes.

I keep seeing people online say Cerrone got paid a few million for this fight. Is there any source that says he got paid 2 million??

Conor McGregor will receive $3 million at minimum for participating in UFC 246's main event against Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone, per ESPN's Marc Raimondi. Cerrone's guaranteed minimum is $200,000 to show with an extra $200,000 for a win, per ESPN's Brett Okamoto.

Lol at all the conspiracy theories. Cowboy has taken similar losses in the past. Connor has had other seemingly “too easy” of wins. Mendes looked like it was fixed more than this. People claimed that was fixed. Anytime he wins and doesn’t knock the guy out cold, people will say it was fixed. Diaz 2, fixed.

This may sound crazy, but MAYBE Connor actually has some power, like everyone has said, and MAYBE a damn near 37 year old who’s taken numerous beatings in his career just doesn’t have it anymore.

If there’s any “conspiracy” it’s that the UFC intentionally gave Connor an easy fight with a big name, who’s in the back end of his career, and posed no real threat to him. For Cerrone, the UFC looked at this fight as a lifetime achievement award. They allowed him to be the sacrificial lamb to give him a big payday as his career begins to wind down, because they’re grateful for the long career of being a company guy.

Beating Cerrone isn’t something to shout too much about, but look at how he did it, look at how he was moving, look at his physical condition, look at his mentality during the build up. It was another person compared to the guy who fought Khabib.

Good ****tt. I tried finding a site that would take my money that Conor would KO his dopey ass in the first round but had no luck.

Hopefully non-alcoholic/drugged up Conor can stick around for a few fights. Lot of good ones out there right now.

Oh and **** them for putting that ****ty co-main on that card. I get it, Conor can "carry the card" but a lot of casuals will watch with Conor and having some ****ty WMMA fight as a co-main just sucks all the hype out of MMA. Holly Holm has been boring as **** ever since the Ronda fight. Should let them fight bantam weights for fun or something.

Watched the fight today ignoring the rest of the card. Good job, Conor. Knowing Cerrone as long as I have he never did strike me as a guy who would accept a fix.
He lost no fix no excuses.
Conor I hoped would win for him to fight khabib again and masvidal and maybe a super catch weight fight against jones or Brock.

Going in, I wasn't worried if Connor lost, I was worried that the washed up drunk we saw last time was going to show up just to milk a payday with his name. When he walked in, looking solid AF, and you can just tell from the way he carries himself and the skin that he wasn't the same as the drunk we saw last time. If that first shot landed, poor Cowboy would still be knocked out. After it, the way he came back and gave Cowboy a hug and seemed to geniunly care that he was okay was the kind of sportsmanship I think everyone wants to see. I was at Twin Peaks watching in and everyone cheered when he did that. I really hope we see more of this Connor. I honestly think he would pluk the feathers off the Eagle. I think that shoulder punch thing is something he's working on because that would crack the code on Khabib. They may not look like much but when it's being pushed in from the gournd it's like a headbutt.

As an Irish-Canadian the thing that bothers me about Conor is how cocky he is. I do not think it is pure confidence but more so arrogance. GSP is a better contrasting look of pure confidence. Another thing that rustles my feathers about connor and maybe the feathers of others is that his head is always up his ass with the visualization-actualization talk. Every single fight he has he claims he dreamed it and envisoned it and it went 100% the way he had predicted he toots his horn to the point of sounding like Eric Bishoff or some con man.

LOL @ how dismissive some of you are about the match being fixed. I don't believe it was. But I'm not 100%. Also, I would say that there is at least one fight per card where the fighters have some type of agreement about certain things.

You can't be that naive as to believe there is not plenty of match fixing going on.

Anyone else make out good on the Roxanne fight? I put everything I had on her to win, which wasn't much but still made out better than I've ever done on a bet.

I wasn't able to catch the post fight stuff...why was Maycee holding the mic and being interviewed before Roxanne?

I don't believe that the companies are in on it. I think the fixing takes place strictly between fighters. Camps are probably aware of it. For example: two fighters agree to make sure a match goes the distance.
