That's a very good explanation for why they had to confiscate guns in Louisiana after Katrina, and why they will have to confiscate guns in ___ after ___ later this year

Think gunfighters back in the 1880s like in the movie would have had a crazy advantage wielding subcompact double stack 9mm like a P365 against magnum six shooters?

It's kind of a lesson on modern media and groupthink and how influential a story is based on the perspective from which you view it. Like, the war of northern aggression. Or if you go way back in time something like thePeloponnesian WarAthenian War

Hey guys, got an issue with my Maverick 88. For the unawares it's basically a Mossberg 500. Whenever I shoot, the pressure from firing a round forces the action to partially open. Slugs almost all the way, birdshot a little less than half. Anyone know what the issue is at the top of their head?

I don't watch the Grammy's . . . because, well, phukk those anti-gun dooshnozzles.

But Joe Perry from Aerosmith apparently had a large HK Shooting sticker as the only decoration on his guitar.

That sounds like something an ice cream person would say

But me offering input on best ice cream would be like Clint Smith offering input on best beer

Or, like me offering input on best beer. heh

I'll check it out . . . literally up the road from me.

There's no decent frozen custard out here. Good Times is about the "best". There's an Andy's or something that opened up (near the Culver's actually) and it's just not great.

A couple years ago, there was an Abbott's Frozen Custard franchise way up north, like an hour away. That's legit frozen custard from upsate NY. But they closed.

Mountain House is expensive as ****.

Before buying it, check how many calories you get per $ and compare it to canned foods and also regular staples like a big bag of rice to stretch the canned food

Yea. 20% codes help but I don’t use freeze dried food as a staple. It’s just good to have some IMO. Lots of chili, canned vegetables, and tuna too along with water of course.

I worry a little in Northwest Arkansas because of Walmart and Tyson. So many people traveling back and forth between China. Could bring it around here easily.

They didn't confiscate everywhere in LA. I know people who were outside of the city who had to patrol their neighborhoods because their were legit roving bands of criminals coming to kill and take chit from people. The way he put it sounded like only half of the official death toll came from the storm and the rest were person on person violence afterwards. I have seen those youtube vids of the national guard going door to door taking guns. I think their purpose was to force those guys to leave their property cause there is no way they could stay unarmed

Just ordered a case of MREs from Meal Kit Supply too.

I know there are nerds out there who know everything about MREs but these seem like a higher end civilian version so whatever.

Do you have a lot of shotgun shooting experience? It could be bad technique and your support hand is racking the slide back from the felt recoil. Better to be safe than sorry and just take it to a gunsmith or email mossberg. I would personally just shoot it without my hand on the pump to eliminate that possibility, I don't recommend you doing that.

Seems expensive. Last time I bought any MRE type of meals I went to a website (I think it was either Ready Store or Be Prepared) and just bought individual pieces of meals. They were generally like $3-5 for each piece. So I bought a bunch of entrees and a bunch of sides and desserts (of my choosing... not just whatever you randomly get in a box).

You basically cut out having to pay for the heaters, and the powdered drinks, and salt/pepper, and napkin, and other random little chit that comes in the MRE. You definitely get more bang for you buck IMO and you get exactly the meals that you want, instead of whatever just happens to be in the box of MREs.
Everything depends upon execution; having just a vision is no solution.

All this talk about M&P's in here finally got to me. Was originally planning on throwing an Apex trigger kit in it, but after a couple hundred dry fires, the factory trigger is actually surprisingly good and don't see a reason to change it. Have yet to see how well it shoots though.

This, but Costco will have great deals on Mountain House every once in a while, puts it down to like less than $4 per pack

I bought some from Amazon last year that were $147 for 24 MREs ($6.125 each)

Just checked Amazon now and the price has jumped up to $200 for the same pack, same inspection date lmao

https://www.amazon.com/Inspection-Me...gateway&sr=8-3

Not that $8.33 a meal is that bad in an emergency (unless you're in the poverty crew), but just lol @ waiting for chit to pop off before you start buying stuff

That being said, just bought five 2400 calorie lifeboat rations at Walmart the other day (alongside some 12 gauge shells, 00 buck and slugs), and my local grocery store often carries random MRE entrees for $2.50 each, so I bought four of those yesterday while grocery shopping (beef stew and chicken gumbo flavored)

Probably gonna get some new cases of water from Costco soon, and then just keep piling up canned goods. Every week when I go to the grocery store I just grab a couple extra cans of chili or tuna/chicken
