This. Go zero tolerance on the retards and make all bans permanent and make examples of the several known alt accounters. With how seriously some of the people take this on both sides they could use a little time to sort through the feelings of their broken childhood someplace other than the Misc.

Yeh, but I don't want posters banned, this isn't a Hello Kitty board. Only thing that should get you banned is TOS violations or spamming. No one here is innocent when it comes to insults, including OP.

If people want milktoast political chat, then Reddit is always there waiting for them. They're more than happy to control speech

I agree with the spirit of this, but in practice the implementation will be horribly biased in favor of Trumpism and attacks on "liberals" in this forum. But if you really want to clean this chithole up finally, I applaud you for that.

I took almost 6 months off from this site because it literally was 90% personal attacks, truly dumb posts like "Is Drumpf finished now?", and straight up 100% false claims.

I don't want people banned permanently either.
But some people need a time out for constant chit posting.
It seems most bans are a week.
make them two weeks.

then reset their rep to zero.

also, start blocking known VPN's and anonymous internet gateways for those smart enough to mask their IP when creating alts just so they can keep being arseholes to people on the internet.
