People make these remarks but are almost always vague about it. Inferior to exactly which airframes and in what way? Comapring fighter capabilities is not as simple as juxtaposing specs and saying "See? This one goes faster, so it's better". A lot of it has to do with features and specs working in harmony with each other and exactly what the fighter is designed to do. I'd be interested to hear your argument against the 22, especially how it's inferior to Soviet-era airframes.

F22 is sick but the P-51 is just legendary. Looks so clean with the polished finish and clear bubble canopy.

While those (and Apaches) are probably the most awesome sight to see in the war in Afghanistan, they're completely useless as a modern plane. Their only advantage is that they fly so freakin slow it makes for easy close air support.

The machine gun? Just why. It's been obsolete for decades. Why are you going to do machine gun runs on a target, not guaranteeing chit when you could just blow it up? Seen A10s do gun runs for close to 10-15 minutes, and while it was awesome as fuark, they didn't hit chit. I'd 100x rather have an Apache come and blow up the bad guys or have an F16 hit em before you can hear them. That all being said, having an A10 fly over me in the middle of a firefight is probably the coolest feeling of my life.

This. My father used to troll the **** out of the A-10 pilots during Red Flag. They are completely helpess against fighters/ when air superiority isn't secured.

That said, they are ****ing awesome.

Well, I'm hard...

Personally these have always been my absolute favorite, still remember seeing the Thunderbirds fly and getting their autographs when I was like 5-6 years old.

As for the A-10, I definitely wouldn't call them beautiful, but I'll be damned if them big ugly sumbishes aren't just plain badass. The amount of damage they can take and stay on mission is absurd...

The A10 only has that reputation because it gets shot so much.... Pretty much any modern plane has a chance of surviving a shoulder fired missile or small arms. They just don't hit modern planes as much.... A10s generally get shot down at a much higher rate than other planes.

All those fly overs it looks like the planes are a good 20 feet off the ground still except at 1:42, that plane looks like it was skimming dirt almost, that was crazy.

Crazy to think that the F-22 is a 22 year old plane. If you count in the R&D phase we are talking about 30+ years. Ronald Reagan ordered it.

Ever heard of guerrilla warfare? We aren’t in total war, so it’s basically a state of limbo. If we wanted we could nuke the entire Middle East and be done with it, but obviously you would get mad over that so we can’t.
