What're ya'll's thoughts on the .45 ACP Glocks like the G21 and G30?

Obviously 9mm is the practical way to go for most situations, but I'm seeing some police trade in .45s lately and wondering if it would be a good pick up. Can you do a barrel swap to 10mm if you wanted? What would the .45 be better for than the 9mm?

Fair enough, I didn't feel like I was being completely screwed and it was my naive impression that it was a minute or two per additional firearm, but if not then yeah I suppose it's warranted.

As soon as you shoot any half ass quantity of ammo, you've spent more money than you would on a new 9mm and same amount of ammo. So like maybe a few trips to the range and the new 9 is already less expensive. And higher capacity. And smaller/easier to conceal.

I'm not sure on that barrel swap. Generally you can't swap anythingto10mm, but they are the same basic frame sizes etc soooo check Glock Talk I guess.

I've owned a G21, G30SF, and G20, FWIW.

Ammo is too expensive, and the 20/21 is huge

45 is a boomer caliber. If you want a step up from 9mm, get a 10mm. You can get 10mm conversions for G21's

We were charging $60 for transfers before stopping all together. It's just an annoyance really. You should be zuking your FFL's dick for dealing with it for anything under $40 IMO.

.45AARP Stoppin' poooowwwwaaaaa!!!!

I like shooting .45. Something about that heavy, slow round just feels good to shoot.

9mm or 10mm would be more practical but not every gun you own needs to be the same thing. Variety is the spice of life

Know how I know you don't shoot?

You think bore axis is relevant to a drill that is 1 shot per string

But with an off the shelf pistol and big defensive type dot sights, I probably can't put 10/10 into the black of a B8 no matter how much time I take per shot. I rarely try but when I do I think my best is like 8/10

Anyone get mad when you’re at the airport and and they call for old people and chit to board first and EVERYONE goes up and tries to board. Like wtf. You slow down boarding for everyone and why do you want to be the first on the plane? They aren’t going to fukin leave until everyone is on.

Yes, it's annoying. We fly Southwest so there are no reserved seats, just boarding groups and orders by number you are assigned when you check in...every ****ing flight somebody tries to get on way before their turn. And then people bring huge ass carry on luggage that is way over the size they say (but never ever ever check or enforce) and take up like double their share of overhead space so sometimes people who get on late can't put anything in overhead storage. But Southwest does family boarding so we get to go around the middle (after A, before B...it goes pre, a, family, b, c) which means there is still overhead space.

I would legit rage flying southwest then. And that reminds me about the people that sit in the back of the plane but put their luggage in the overhead in the front like azzholes. Then when you come to sit in your seat in the front there’s no overhead space.

I’m convinced that flying truly shows people’s character and personality. It’s interesting and infuriating.

They are the best price pretty much always though

And...bags fly free. Two checked bags per person are free so we never have to pay for bags (and strollers and kid car seats are always free and don't count).

lol I haven't noticed that with the luggage, that's...slick? ha. We never sit in the front though, we never get (seems you have to pay for early boarding to) good early boarding groups and people take the front seats early on so they can get off quick

My parents fly Southwest so much, and use a Southwest credit card for reward stuff, they got a companion pass...for a full year at a time one of them buys a ticket, the other flies with them for free. Also free wifi on every flight and early automatic check-in I think. And my in laws I believe flew enough with them they'll get a companion pass next year...or have one this year? I forget.

There are a lot of incentives to use Southwest

I usually fly spirit and just board last. Cbf to stand and wait in a line to board.

your dms are full

With that Target Sports 8% discount and free shipping...

sgammo as a standard (because they're really good), 1k of Speer Lawman 124gr is usually about $200 shipped.

With Target Sports ammo prime I get it for $35 cheaper. So it only takes 3 cases of 1k rounds to offset the cost of ammo prime.

Once my house sells I'm going to put in an order for at least 10k of lawman, maybe 20k, we'll see. Probably at least 4 or 5k of wolf gold as well.

Right.

I know Futurama isn't a very popular show necessarily (it should be, it's ****ing aweseome, though part of it is you have to know stuff to get some of the jokes kinda thing)

Anyway

yeah

This episode is killer

[context, Fry gets frozen for 1,000 years and wakes up in the future. He had a dog. Dog waited. And waited. And waited. Fry never came back. Plot inspired by true story of doge who did that. Master left for work on train, doge waited as he always did, master died, never came back. Doge kept waiting]
Dammit
