Husky family dog kills 5-year-old boy

A 5-year-old boy died after he was attacked by the family's pit bull dog Monday in Oro Grande, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said.

The attack took place in the 15100 block of Portland Street around 2:57 p.m., the department said.

The boy was with an adult family member and there was no known reason why the dog attacked the child, Sgt. Jeff Allison of the SB County Sheriff's Department said.

"Unfortunately, the child did not survive," Allison said.

The dog was quarantined by Animal Control and the child's parents have been notified, authorities said.

Detectives from the Victor Valley sheriff's station were investigating the death and interviewing the family, Allison said.

Im not a fan of them either. But how many pits are on earth and what percentage of them end up killing a kid??

You are more likely to be killed by a fellow human than a pit.

Most owners dont understand dog body language and thats just sad and sometimes dangerous.

Was talking to a coworker who owns a pitbull from a SHELTER. I think it was abused before, and he says it hasn't acted out and it's a good dog. I say "atleast you don't have a kid, because that breed is unpredictable especially if it were abused". Turns out he does have a kid. People are stupid. They always talk about how their dog has no violent tendencies until it does
