Think how crazy it is to think that not embracing a 12 year old's decision is now considered bigoted, transphobic, etc. Any parent should tell their kids that they're allowed to do what they want at 18, but until then, they're a boy/girl because they were born that way. Once they're of legal age to make their own decisions, they can do what they want. At least by then, the parent/s have given the child enough time to either come out of a phase, or become comfortable with the decision.

Imagine being a kid, who are easily influenced and not all there to process everything they go through in life properly at a young age, telling their parents they feel like a boy/girl. Said parents then go full retard and embrace being woke and have the kid start hormones and even surgery, only for the kid to later realized he/she done goofed. And to later have a conversation with the parent:

Child: "Why did you allow me to do this?!

Parent: "You said you were a girl."
