I prefer a Tyto myself for skinning. Either way be careful with as they're both WAY sharper than most people are used to.

Never heard of those before. They look cool but that’s a considerable price increase for the same functionality. But it would be a LOT easier to clean.

And yeah, BE CAREFUL. A small mess up with a regular knife is a bandaid. A small mess up with a scalpel is a trip to get stitches.

Also, I don’t think you can go wrong with a Benchmade, but there are a handful of good companies out there that make good, affordable knives. IMO it’s about finding the mechanism and feel that you like. I carried my Mini-Griptilian around for a while and thought it was great but I would easily throw it in a ditch now for my ZT0770. The mechanism is outstanding for a locking open, every single time, with no effort.

Havalons are nice i just like tyto. Hell even the cheap gerbers are descent for what they are. Always gotta have some super glue and leukotape in your kill kit. Way better than a bandaid.

Little brother would be lucky to get a descent knife plus you can point on the "limited edition" printed on the blade

Zero Tolerance is generally built to a higher standard than a mass production Benchmade, of course. ZT makes some absolute units.

I kind of like knives, but I kind of am more scared of them than I am of firearms...there's so much exposed edge, it's not covered by a guard, you're moving it around and applying force and it's...as you got at above, a small mess up is a big thing if you become a knife nut and have **** that's 'scary sharp'. The knife guys talk about sharpening their pocket knives to the point of 'tree topping'...pretty sure I'd end up cutting a finger to the bone if that is what I had in my pocket

But I do have 'super steel' bladed pocket knives, they keep a pretty good edge (my standard is to start at arm hair shaving sharp and sharpen when it iwll no longer cleanly slide loose held printer paper) for quite awhile with reasonable use, that link above with the S30V is a great daily pocket knife steel..I have like CPM20CV and S110V but I'm not sure why

On the earlier mentions of getting carded . . . took the Mrs out for a late dinner. She turns 50 in a couple weeks. She orders a margarita and gets carded.

Boi I just dun goofed

Went to burgem kings to try the breakfast, its been a hot minute since I've had anything there

tried the egg-sellent burrito + french toast sticks and the tots.

the burrito weighs like 3 lbs

I did my second ever USPSA match this past weekend. Doing Carry Optics with my 5" Walther PPQ with a Holosun 507c red dot. My dot craps out on me in the middle of the first stage. I finished it by just point shooting. The optic came back on afterwards in the "auto" mode, which runs it off of the solar panel. I assumed my battery was dead, but when checking it at home, the battery is still good. Apparently there was a voluntary recall on these a couple years ago so I'm hoping Holosun will fix/replace it for free.....

Definitely better after training with it. I really like the fact you can shoot with both eyes open, I suck at closing one eye. It certainly takes some practice to ingrain the muscle memory needed to acquire the dot quickly.

Got the new X5 Legion recently. Absolute brick of a gun. Only the new Romeo 1 Pro or Delta Point Pro fits it though. I ordered the Romeo 1 Pro 6 MOA dot, but it's on backorder.

Went to the range today since I had off and took the Model 29. Always funny how the range gets quiet after firing the first shot from a larger caliber handgun. I initially walked in and they said the range was down due to technical problems, but thankfully it was opened as I was walking around looking at stuff.

I've actually tried this a little bit, I can eventually get the right sight picture, but it takes a while. As with anything though, I'm sure it takes practice.
