Should parents have to provide receipts for how child support is spent?

Seems tedious to me and i pay around $600/mo.
The problem i have is that she is always asking for more on top of that.
Its pretty bad when both ppl make the same amount of money, have 50/50, and yet the guy always has to pay. (What a joke)
The one receiving the support is usually living beyond their means and not really providing support with the money.

So this idea would raise the tax burden across the board.
Then if the audits come back with frivolous spending what’s to be done? Cut off the child support. Great idea, let’s punish the kid for the parents (perceived) negligence.
Sorry, but this is an ill conceived idea that was thought up as way to enable deadbeats to dead beat.

Or a court order if the parent paying the child support sees basic needs not being met, ie: clothing for school, holes in shoes, medications not being purchased that are needed, school supplies, etc
I mean with foster children it’s mandatory as a foster parent to provide receipts for social workers to prove the child they are caring for is being taken care of

I'm a step parent raised my two girls from the ages of 3 and 5. Their bio dad is a piece of crap and paid child support and put up the same argument. He would have weekends with them and drop them off at his moms and go to the bar but gripe about paying for child support. Child support doesn't begin to cover all the expenses. I can't tell you how much money ive spent over the years but it's alot and not that i care. but fuk these dead beats

Once the kid is like 16 the money should go into an account for them or something.
Also I really dont think a parent should pay child support unless they get half custody unless the parent is proven to be a danger to the child.
Imagine how the dynamics would change if each parent had to pay child support to the other parent during the periods the child was with the other parent.
Child support is literally just separating fathers from their kid but keeping the financial support. Think of how diabolical that is while also considering this:

It also seems to pave the way for financial abuse by the partner paying the child support?
Even better we should bring back forced marriage until the kid reaches a majority

Neither should the man pay for all her utilities. How much water and electricity does a 7 year old use? The man pays half the difference.
It is entirely doable.

If a women is getting child support, she should have to provide documentation that the money was used to support the kids, and not getting your hair and nails done 3x a month.

You want your kids in a good school then they are going to need to live in a good neighborhood.
If I don't count the roof I doubt my child support covers internet (necessary for school) electricity, water, gas, sanitation.
Not to mention food, clothes, insurance, phone, sports, transportation etc.

So you end up covering all the costs of keeping the child, with a nice amount left over for the mother to spend as she pleases.
I think the problem here is that people who don't have kids assume the father just jacked on his kid and doesn't want to pay.
The reality for most is usually the female has decided to breakup the family. Now through no choice of his own, the father only gets to see his kid at the weekend.
I will happily pay to raise my child. However, I don't want to pay for the mother's bad spending habits ontop of that.

When the child turns 18, they get the remaining balance back. If they want to give it to the kid for college, that is an option but they have no legal obligation to do so.

I have zero problem with the concept of child support.
Where I wish Snails and folks like her would focus is child support enforcement reform. I think there is too little leeway on each side of the enforcement issue.

He was freed from the mortgage but you are getting free money from him every month to put towards the mortgage. He maybe be off the mortgage and the house was determined yours in the divorce but he is still paying towards the equity. You will look it over since its an obvious benefit to yourself. He is paying into equity for the house while you get that equity.
This is solely supposed to be to the benefit to the child.

Even if she paid me it would be hard for the three of us( now two of us to live and they would have gone to a much worse school.
When you get divorced you aren't supposed to want your children's lifestyles to go backwards just because you want your ex punished.
I think most of you are warped. You want your kids moving into a dump of an apartment after all they've known their whole life is a decent house in a decent neighborhood?

Yes! My sister gets child support so she can spend it going to gym and buying her cosmetics while my mom had to retire from work to take care of her kid for free. Pathetic.
