Of course the first one I did where I was almost vertical I didn't have anyone there with a camera. Didn't want to go full send as I didn't have a helmet on.

Its easier in deep powder as the track can climb the snow

Bros with kids. What do you do to spend time with your kids when they aren't really into anything? My 10 year old isn't into sports, not interested in any karate or martial arts, etc, not interested in shooting... Just wants to play fuking vidya games all day. Do I be an ******* dad and force him to do something to get him out the house sometimes?

10 year olds...IDK. 2 player video games? Figure out which ones they play that can be done 2 player, etc? Yeah schedule some things to do that are out of the house and you're going to go do them, figure all the portable vidya games can be played in the car on the way to and from etc to 'soften the blow'.

Or just...have you set time limits? What device(s) are being used? Our tablets and Nintendo Switch all have cutoff times in the evening as well as total daily time limits so when those are used up...haha

My youngest would be on electronics all day if I let her. I limit screen time, and I expose them to outdoors, even if it's just a walk, hike, or bike ride. Usually I give a choice, chores or lets go outside and just walk. It's usually "let's go outside".

We end up riding our bikes around the neighborhood, and she loves that.

Sometimes, you do have to be an ass, but the thing is exposure of different things works for me. I try to get them doing different things outdoors to find out what clicks. So far, it's bike riding, which is awesome for me as I love riding bikes. It really no different than food choices. Leave it up to them, they'll junk food all day. I try different healthy foods, and find out what they like, and teach them good food choices vs bad.

I don't have kids, so this isn't worth a lot. But I got one of my 8 year old nephews the book "Way of the Warrior Kid" and he read through it in a few days and now he legit makes lists of shiit he needs to do and he does pushups and pull ups lmao. Maybe try having your kid read this book

Are they not interested because they've done it and don't like it or because they simply don't know? My kid always says he "doesn't like" food he's never tried before. My kid also said he wasn't interested in shooting a bow and fishing. Now I'm about to get him his first compound after shooting a traditional bow for 2 years and has a St Croix rod.

I think kids like it because it's no bull**** and they can understand it. Too many authors try to write **** with deep meaning for 8 year olds

For the most part, yes. He played baseball for a couple years. Decided he wasn't into it anymore. I do take him to the range with me occasionally and he'll shoot and all, but he's not into it to the point that he'll ask to go or anything. The local Jiu jitsu place has a thing where kids can take two classes for free to see if they might be into it. I might just have to put my foot down and make him try it. I think it would be great for his self confidence. He's not on the X Box all day, but it's basically all he wants to do other than draw. Which I don't complain about at all. He's pretty talented for his age so I try to encourage him on that front.

Gotcha. That's a tough one. My kid had no desire for sport until i took him to some professional games and he realized that it can be fun.. Another thing you can do is to sorta manipulate him using his interests. Say you'll go to an art museum (or comic con or whatever drawing he's into) one weekend and then the next weekend you go camping.

When I was that age I just wanted to play vidya too but my dad would make me go out shooting with him or my cousin would come over and we'd go out and ride 4 wheelers through the swamp or walk through the woods. I always liked sports but other than that I just wanted to chill inside which i didn't get to do much considering I played football, baseball, wrestled and basketball starting in 4th grade for all but baseball, I started that at like 4 y/o. At around 12 I started to get more outgoing and when puberty hit full on around 14 it changed me into a completely different person and I would've rather died than be stuck inside. I wouldn't worry about your son too much at his age but I'd still make him get out with you though. Some of the best memories I have with my father are when he'd make me go do stuff with him from ages 7 to 11 even though I didn't want to go at the time

Yeah, I gotta think of something. He's getting to that age where I just want him to know there's more out there than what he does every day.

lol, that reminds me, my dad used to make my brother and I sometimes go with him to walk through "the NIPSCO field", which was just a portion of woodland maybe a half mile down the road in between neighborhoods with a semi-trail that people walked or rode through sometimes, owned by the power company that had high tension lines running through. Was always bored and complained about the sticker weeds on my pants lol

A little over a week my dog and another dog got in a fight while we were out walking. Totally the other dog’s fault for no other reason than my dog was on a leash controlled by me and this one was out running free. But that whole thing is irrelevant to me now. Mine came out way worse with both bones in the left front leg broken. He had a splint on from his toes to his elbow which was rough, but he was figuring it out. Took him back this afternoon to get the splint changed since he had been licking and chewing on it and now they opened the splint so the wound will heal (bone went through the skin) and he has a cone on. I had a hella rough time with this last week but we made a lot of progress through the week and now it feels like starting all over again. He’s never had a cone. Never had anything wrong before. He’s still sort of knocked out right now but next few days are going to suck.

Anyone been through this before? And advice? I’m taking off tomorrow but I can’t take off all week. Worried about him being alone with all this.
