hopefully they go back to TT V6s.

reason i never like the 350z was because besides a plenum spacer and exhaust there wasnt much that you could do to it for power. then the TT $15k kits rolled out for them but nobody really did them (at least in my area)

while in my 300ZX TT i was able to hit mid 500 with injectors, downpipes, bigger intercoolers and a tune. about $3k-$4k.
my 1990 Z was beating *******s in their brand new 350z while rolling with T-Tops off...

How did afford a 300zx when you were 18 and the instance? Also aren't those things a pain in the butt to maintain?

longggg story bro.
i worked from ages 15-18 and managed to save 6k. i found a rough shape 1990 300zx TT for sale for 8k in Ipswich MA.
managed to get it for 6k and took it home.
i get home and my father scolds me for wasting money on car. i list it on CL for 7k and sell it to nice italian couple in their 60s that is buying it for 20 something son that just just about to come out of prison.
3 weeks later i get call from couple that bought it asking me if i want to buy it back because son was caught doing something drug related again and was going to spend 10 plus years in prison again if sentenced but he was in jail again.
i turned it down but offer them my help with sale.
they call me the next day to just take the car as they dont want it in their garage and it reminds them of their son.

car was never registed or driven really from when they bought it from me. they never even signed the tittle as apparently the son did this the day after he was released from prison.

i went and they gave me the car and tittle. older gent asked me to visit him every now and then as he has lost his only son again...

i no longer have the car with me as it was rear ended and totaled by a teen in his mom's minivan but i still talk to the guy and visit him every now and then.

Wow great story bro 10/10 would read again srs. That's cool that you go back to that guy who's sons in prison. My first car was a Nissan so I kind of have a soft spot for them especially a 90s one.

Yeah, this. My wife had a 2010 Infiniti G37 convertible and was able to move to a 2014 of the same model (actually a G37s). She's a Stacy and says the car looks sexy, and she just loves to drive it, especially in the summertime. I like to drive it, too, it's a fun car for non-gearheads like us.
Now my son has a 2015 Mustang GT convertible, I could not believe all the track and race settings the car has. It even has a linelock function. They really have come a long way.

Yep, her newest one (the 2014) is an S. Funny story, my dad got it for my mom (who is in her 70's). She actually would put the top down and drive at first, but she got tired of it pretty quick. We've had more problems with it (top not wanting to close, etc.) than we did the 2010 because it sat for a good while when my mom got tired of it. But man that thing can move, if you're just wanting to pull out on the highway and not get run over.
And I agree with you- these aren't lambos but still pretty cool. I'd love to get a GTR someday, it's as much of an exotic as I could ever afford.
