Some general fukery with a rifle in the first minute. Went to zero my rifle, and then had a couple mags of ammo I thought I'd just burn through before practicing cc appendix draw and fire.

Unfortunately, I just filmed my warm-ups before my battery died. I practice double taps, target transitions, cover, and movement. Oh well, at least it's short.

Bad camera angle, but I'm out there just filming by myself.

I actually meant to post something about this the other day and forgot. The one in my bum fuk nowhere town has a no guns sign on the door now. It has to be a corporate mandate based off that I assume. But I'm guessing they didn't come out and say anything public since there hasn't been a blowup. Yet.

oh boy

Fortunately I have no problem using other fast food restaurants almost all the time, and don't actually get mcdonald's very often as it is. So no big loss if I stop going and tell them why

As long as Culver's and Wendy's are okay...

Well well well. You powdered milk drinkers didn't think I'd be back, did you?

Look at the new frame I got for my Pig Power Xcarry. You gotta admit that is one sexy jonson

For whatever reason the trigger dynamic changed by swapping out to a new frame. Makes zero sense why. Reset seems to be shorter.

Our intranet went out at work today so we had to do everything on paper; counts, bed moves, ect....

The yard I work is on the exact opposite side of the prison as Central Control (were it all needs to be turned in to). Walked my happy ass back and forth all day, 1.5 mile round trip and I made it 6 times today.

Good times.

He's making it. He's mostly used to the cone now. Still acting depressed all the time but it's getting better.

He has somehow managed to lick his wounds even with the cone on though. I've been putting a loose bandage on it to try and deter him from trying, but it's not working great. He won't do it when anyone is around so I'm not even sure how he's getting there. We go back tomorrow afternoon for a checkup so if he's still doing it today I'll just get a little more aggressive with the bandage. A day or so covered won't hurt anything.

Never seen a gun buster sign at my local Mc-Ds' around these parts. Probably a franchise owner decision to put them up rather than a corporate decision would be my guess.

As for reaction times, I've been looking at master shooters, and they have the gun at least out of the holster at or before the end of the "beep". I've been neglecting my dry fire practice at home with the timer. Hard when kids want my attention 100% of the time when I'm at home. I've been trying to get faster out of the gate.

What's difficult with cc holster draw is inconsistent grip (for me with my AIWB holster anyway). The grip rides the top of my jean's belt line. With a too aggressive grip, I grab the top of my pants (or worse, my belt). So I have to first hook my thumb around the grip, then draw a little, then wrap my fingers around the grip.

I've adjusted the holster to ride higher, but prints like crazy. I dunno, maybe I shouldn't care about printing.

If you're going to print, you may as well carry OWB so you can have active retention mechanisms in a good Safariland duty/LE worthy holster

Nah. Thing with printing these days... I don't see it as a big flashing neon sign that screams "I have a firearm!" like open carry does. Too many people are preoccupied, heads buried in their phones, condition white, that nobody pays attention. OWB on the other hand, will draw stares even among the most oblivious. Last thing I want is obvious attention, especially when I'm out with family.

My theory (and it's just my take), even a baddy will be too preoccupied to notice obvious printing.

LEO may notice if actively looking. I tend not to hang around LEO ('cept at work). Funny story (to me), I was at a mall with a gun buster sign, standing in line to order food in the food court. Not 3 minutes pass, and up walks a uniformed cop and stands right behind me. I half turn, make eye-contact (no meatie reference here), and smile. I'm turn back around thinking he saw me printing, and he's waiting for backup to kick me out. I order my food, walk slowly away, and he places his order. I blew a sigh of relief. I was hungry after all.

If someone did notice printing, meh. Of all the people that do point out that I'm printing, it's my kids. They actually tell me. It's like a game to them to notice.

I was at Walmart last weekend with my youngest. I was preparing to reach on the top shelf for the Coke Zero, and he said (out of the blue), "Go ahead, daddy. I'll watch your sweatshirt."

At first I was like, WTF? Then I remembered. lulz

The preoccupied heads buried in phones condition white people aren't the reason you are carrying a gun, so why would they be the reason to choose whether or not you conceal its presence?

Nobodyis going to point out that you're printing. It is a rare soul who sees a random stranger attempting to hide a gun, but failing, who says "say, is that a gun under your shirt?". I've made a ton of people I knew were carrying (some straight up seeing the gun when they take a coat off etc) or pretty strongly suspected were most likely carrying (printing, gun stickers on car and wearing a vest, more printing, holding strong side arm stiff as a board over their waste when walking by a person and then looking around...sometimes with printing when I then look closer)...never said a thing to any of them...why TF would I do that?

My theory is, if you're going to conceal, conceal. The people who are the reason you carry in the first place are the people who are most likely to notice.
