And bringing up Mohammad Ali fought in the 70s predominantly, Mike Tyson fought in the 90s, of course they wouldn't compete with guys of today

The ground roots support has simply died, being an Amateur US boxer now means you get little to no support, compared to other countries that fund their young boxers, giving them access to state of the art training facilities, physio's, nutritionists and a salary.
But you still produce some fine young fighter like Shakur Stevenson, though unfortunately he'll probably never be the star his talents deserve as most US sports fans would rather watch NFL, NBA or perhaps even MLS than watching boxing.
It was kind of sad to see Deontay Wilder in Vegas come out to a hostile, pro Brit, crowd in his own country. Could you imagine Tyson being booed in his prime fighting on US soil?
In the UK boxing is as big as it's ever been. Joshua is the biggest star the UK has ever witnessed, even after losing, his rematch drew near record numbers. On fight night any pub showing it, in my town was full to capacity and had to turn people away at the door, you have 40-50 people standing outside, peering through the windows trying to see the fight, there was that much interest in the fight.
In contrast most US fans that supported Wilder in the rematch will likely ditch him now and go back to watching other sports. There simply isn't the same interest in boxing in the US as before as the US boxing system couldn't compete with more organised and unified sporting bodies that were able to grow their sports popularity.

Hell, even HBO got out of the boxing business. That's just depressing.Americans haven't cared about boxing since like 1980. It's a washed up sport that is now dominated by boring points winners.

It's understandable though. Britain has ALWAYS been a land of cucks. From the Romans to the Vikings. Hell even the current kings are French.

Brits are racist like this in Formula 1 too.
They swear it’s because Americans are too dumb to reach a high level but in reality it’s a just cultural reason based on the norms of the society.
Then they get mad when you point out they couldn’t compete in our sports either due to lack of cultural familiarity.
Brits are so racist and insecure it’s ridiculous and sad, it invalidates any autism driven intelligence they may or may not have.
It’s sad how tribal they are.

Ffs snooker, darts and billiards are more popular than boxing. USA has way more boxers, just accept the fact that you mouth breathers suck ass.

And all the active competition there locally is pretty deep and there’s a lot of nerds of the game. It’s that whole colonial carnality.
There are fans who are very serious about it out there like in the science of it which we don’t have out here, esspecially preferring MMA for the nerd status like we all criticize its a gimmicky outdated mess conceptually as a sport. That’s also why brits are good at it because they like the gimmicky shallow stuff while Americans prefer actual athleticism and horsepower not gimmick stuff that Autists are good at.
Even on any fight fan website there is an over represented ammount of brits who all love to talk their ass off about it and know the most obscure crap about it.

You DO try, you have an f1 team, you play rugger, get a sympathy vote into the world cup soccer, are represented in every summer and winter Olympic sport.. and get gubbed in all of them.

No one cares. Boxing in the US is a dying sport. American heavyweight boxers are our D-level athletes.

For the most part our best athletes play Football, Basketball or even Baseball. All of which are easier to play via school programs than boxers.
