Like we told you. It's not difficult or complicated.

Add TSA Pre and it's usually quite smooth. Still sucks and still try to avoid it because **** the whole thing, but, what it is, is pretty simple.

I really need to get TSA Pre-Check. It's $85 for 5 years? I assume it's only good for me though right? So anyone I'm traveling with is kinda screwed?

Nobodyis going to point out that you're printing. It is a rare soul who sees a random stranger attempting to hide a gun, but failing, who says "say, is that a gun under your shirt?". I really doubt that baddies are actively looking for CC holders. They tend to still be nervous when committing a crime, that so many other things go through their head.

Who says they are already committing a crime and thus nervous at all times? But already being in the process of committing a crime does seem like it would really amp up their awareness for something like printing...

And, aren't you in Arizona? No license even required either way? High rate of firearms ownership?

Well, when their stress level is up, they tend to notice LESS things. They get tunnel vision, and all they want it what they want, and to get away. Now, you really don't have to take my word for it, but not only do I work at a court house, but work and support Adult Probation dept. Talking to POs, the average criminal elements is very stupid.

Yes, extremely high rate of ownership. Gun shops on almost every corner, and you can't swing a dead cat by the tail without hitting a home-based FFL doing transfers for $15. Still, anti-gunners are willing to make your life unpleasant at any turn.

Anyway, an OC gun on your hip is a 360deg sign saying you definitely are armed. CC with heavy printing, especially AIWB, there's a big chance that no one will notice unless they are really actively looking. So I may forego the deep concealment, and ride my holster higher at the risk of printing a bit more but a more consistent grip.

I'd be curious to know the amount of people that actually commit crimes wearing holsters. I'd think think that a majority of criminals wouldn't keep one on them as it would possibly serve as evidence they were armed to begin with.

I'd also think that people that conceal regularly and know the issues associated with it would be better at picking it up on other people since they're more familiar. Then again the whole increased visual acuity during fight or flight could negate unfamiliarity...

From talks with POs, most armed criminals are very unfamiliar with firearms. They don't regularly shoot, or practice in any way. They don't regularly carry. It's pocket carry, in the glove box, crevice in a car, etc. They arm up when they think they'll use it (either to commit a crime or they need it for immediate protection). They don't just want to get caught with firearm possession doing normal everyday stuff like anyone else if they happen to be stopped by LE. This goes back to practice. They aren't going to risk it going to a range, or out in the desert to practice.

They don't know how to handle a firearm properly outside of point, and pull the trigger. When they do shoot, it's usually one-handed most of the time. Follow-up shots are sloppy with a big chance of hitting a bystander.

I'd give it a bit. Within 2 weeks we're going to know whether or no this coronavirus is going to pop off in the US. Also keep in mind that a LOT of **** is being held up in China that's probably going to be affecting supply chains for months to come

I'd agree. At this point, you're still trying to catch a falling knife and I think we'll see it drop some more. Have to see how the next few weeks go with the coronavirus crap. I'll dump a bit more cash in at some point.

Better to happen now. Odds are it will all settle out in a couple months and then the market will probably crank right back up ahead of the election.

Gotta remember, proximity negates skill, and action beats reaction. All that **** shooting ability isn't much of a factor if and when they initiate and do so up close

Absolutely. As much as it's fun to impress my friends with 25m pistol shots ringing steel, I always tell them, I practice 7 yards, 5 yards, 3 yards for IRL situations. Anything beyond that, I don't want the liability, and if I can break contact, I probably will. Not super impressive, but hey... whatever will give me the advantage irl.

I do push myself to get within 3" groups @ 3 yards, 5" @ 5 yards, and 7" @ 7 yards. Those gongs are 6.5" in the vid.

My new steel targets did come in mail today! 12"x7"x3/8" ar500 silhouettes! Mostly for rifle target practice.

The silhouettes i currently use are made of rubber, and can be used over and over again. Great for close up practice as I don't use steel closer than 7yards. (i know, 15y should be the minimum, but I like the instant feedback of the "DING!".)

I also would've argued that her ramming the cart into the gun was her attempt at trying to get it to discharge, and fearful of my life.

I would have been pivoting on one foot, tactically assessing the situation. Then I'd start dropping chem lights in preparation for EXFIL

As for reaction times, I've been looking at master shooters, and they have the gun at least out of the holster at or before the end of the "beep". What's difficult with cc holster draw is inconsistent grip (for me with my AIWB holster anyway). The grip rides the top of my jean's belt line. With a too aggressive grip, I grab the top of my pants (or worse, my belt). So I have to first hook my thumb around the grip, then draw a little, then wrap my fingers around the grip.

I've adjusted the holster to ride higher, but prints like crazy. I dunno, maybe I shouldn't care about printing.
i agree with the AIWB. But that's why there is practice. But right ot your point, very difficult when you've got little ones always searching you out, and even so, the Mrs. wanting you home to help out.

IMO, and even call it IME also, only people that would realize it's a print are if it's very obvious, or people that carry and they won't out you. If anything, would be just be a "hey, fyi....". I'm lucky to be thin enough, yes i'm like my av, and just throw on a baggy ish shirt and no one knows.

i carry a hk vp9 aiwb for reference.

I always have a badge on my belt, in case people notice me CC that is there too, though the badge is in the front right and gun is at the back right.

Only once had someone freak out, a 20 something women in Wal-Mart once. Reached up to grab something and my shirt rose a bit and got caught on the grip of my Glock. Next thing I know this lady is freaking out yelling (loud as fck) 'He has a gun! Call the police!'

Everyone turns (about 15 people in view) and looks; I just lifted my shirt to show my badge and told her to calm the fck down. Once she saw that she shut up and apologized, everyone else didn't seem to care eitherway.

I mean, yeah, if I wanted to go shoot people I am loading a cart of groceries first...

They assume 2 things about people with a badge: They are 100% fine doing whatever they are doing, or; they are all pure evil and need to be ridiculed.

This is why I hated doing hospital coverage, most people, 99%, leave us alone. There is always the odd one out who seems to think we are the cause of all evil in CA and lets us know it.
