Buy more stocks now or wait for bigger dip?

Ready to put in a large buy order for VTI/VOO, given the large overreaction (-13%) to Coronavirus.

Wondering if I should wait for more betas to panic selling in fear, before jumping in though. Might get a sweet 20-25% dip?

A buy trailing stop order at ~5% above the low might be a good strategy.

It's never a good idea to buy while it's on the way down. People do that thinking they will miss out but it's better to wait until you actually think the chart has hit bottom and is beginning the bounce back up. It's better to miss out on a few percentage points waiting for the bounce than buying during the fall and having to ride it out.

In my opinion this thing could turn really ugly for the next couple of months. Stocks were already way over priced and the MSM is going to do everything they can to encourage Corona panic with this being an election year.

I would honestly expect a slight down market tomorrow with a huge plunge late into the afternoon. Like a 1500-2000 point plunge. Nobody wants to be holding the bag if this virus blows up over the weekend.

My plan is to buy a little every 10% drops, see how we go from there. I feel like supply disruptions are going to impact the market for the majority of the year or at least until Q3 if the virus is dealt with by then, I am guessing it will still be an issue from what I am reading.

im down 30k, entered the market in November when it was shooting up..got 130k invested and 130k in cash....not sure what to do either

This whole thing is ENTIRELY media driven. It's also being driven by the fact at least 1/3 the country is cheering for a recession to stop trump.

Even if this blows up like the 2009 Swine Flu did, it's not going to matter. Our fundamentals are still strong and when people realize in a few months they don't know a single person who died from (or maybe even contrived) this, everyone will forget about it. Buy.
