Meanwhile the regular yearly flew kills thousands and thousands every year and no one bats an eye.
The regular flu kills more per year because it infects more people.....so far. The mortality rate of corona as of right now is about 20X higher compared to the regular flu. That's if you believe the Chinese aren't suppressing info (just lol if you believe that)

1,000,000 flu cases = 1,000 deaths

1,000,000 corona cases= 20,000 deaths

Corona isn't something that most healthy adults should worry too much about but more importantly it shows how vulnerable our society is and how quick something can go from endemic to epidemic to pandemic. The next global catastrophe won't be from nuclear weapons or climate change, it'll be a deadly virus or antibiotic resistant bacteria. SRS (no tinfoil)

ETA: Corona can be spread much more rapidly also because of it's long incubation time. Which translates to more people spreading the virus before they even get their first symptom. I hate to go all Alex Jones infowars here but I'm ganna guess this gets out of control in the US by April. Cancelled conferences, concerts, sporting events, flights, etc.

Saw on gun deals that Vedder light tuck holsters are 20% off for the next 10 1/2 hours. Read a lot of good things and considering getting one for the G26, Shield, and LCR

Does the claw attachment make a big difference?

I mean...doesn't take much to kill people who's diets consist of fuking bats, etc. Seems pretty obvious that the huge majority of deaths are from older people and people who generally aren't as healthy as far as immune systems, etc.

Seriously though, I'm not saying it isn't scary, but basing what deaths in the US would be on Chinese and third world country deaths are just not the same thing.

For some reason it has an extremely low infection rate for young kids and infants. They don't know why. And the ones that do catch it, it's very mild. Thankfully. In general, unless your immune system sucks or you're probably 60+...you'll be just fine if you get it.
Even most of the cases amongst adults are being described as mild as far as symptoms. Common cold and flu symptoms for a week or so and on your way you go.

corona virus is described as a severe flu which causes respiratory problems...

il be honest, practically every person i work with came down with symptoms resembling this (literally hundreds of people). i caught it twice and the first time it was so severe i felt like i got beat down. but i got over it, and no one i know has died.

the media is over hyping it because they want to scare us into watching more news.

I think (with no evidence) the reason it's so bad in China is the pollution in the air has weakened their lungs/immune system so they are more susceptible to it, along with lack of proper medical care.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/bid...ar-endorsement

In a surprise moment at the end of his Dallas rally on the eve of Super Tuesday, former Vice President Joe Biden called former Texas Rep. Beto O'Rourke up to the stage -- and vowed to put O'Rourke, who has said the government should forcibly seize assault rifles from Americans, in charge of gun-control efforts.

Biden, taking the microphone after O'Rourke spoke, then announced, "I want to make something clear -- I'm gonna guarantee you, this is not the last you're seeing of this guy -- you're gonna take care of the gun problem with me, you're gonna be the one who leads this effort. I'm counting on you, I'm counting on you, we need you badly."

O'Rourke has previously said he would like to seize all Americans' AR-15 assault rifles, promising: "Hell, yes, we're going to take your AR-15, your AK-47," at a Democratic primary debate last year, shortly before his campaign collapsed.

"Yikes," remarked Trump campaign spokesman Andrew Clark.

"Joe Biden promises Beto O'Rourke, who pushed for gun confiscation for legal gun owners, will ' be the one who leads' his gun control effort," observed GOP Rapid Response Director Steve Guest. "2020 Democrats are unambiguous about their anti-Second Amendment agenda."

Wrote NBC News' Benjy Sarlin: "Biden hugging Beto going 'You’re going to take care of the gun problem for me!' is a thing you will see in a Republican ad someday."

i could see that, the air pollution in china is extreme. but china also has a huge population, lots and lots of people crammed into cities so an infectious flu which causes the ill to cough excessively would spread like grass fire.

Isn't exactly the cleanliest of cultures either.

I think it is still bad (not as bad as what the media says) and will affect the US significantly. The herd has been spooked and the left are going to circle jerk their doom boners as long as Trump is in office.

I was talking to my lib co-workers and they were talking about how much it sucked watching their 401K drop, but almost with a sense of excitement. It was hard to describe, but they should have been more somber than what they were. Keep in mind, these are the people that said absolutely nothing when their 401k was sky rocketing. It was a very interesting tell of just exactly what their mindset is.

ive been to china and the impression i got is that they dont value human life much there.

as for corona virus here in the US and the stock market i doubt its going to be a long term issue. some people will get sick but the vast majority will get over it. the stock market will recover and continue to go up.

To be fair, Ebola is scary as all hell and if Ebola was spreading like corona we would have pulled out of school and only left the house carefully as adults for 'required' things starting at least a full week ago. You can't be too afraid of an outbreak of one of those.

But, the list of novel strains of flu is a bit of a "cried wolf".

Also, I hear Atlanta area officially as it now and not just people who went through our airport.

They did. It may as well just be open now. They've changed a lot of other division rules suddenly too that make no sense at all.

Hot Zone

There are approved vaccines for Ebola (at least some strains I think - didn't really look into it).

With how many people go through that airport it was only a matter of time before a local caught it
