I actually admire SIG for being able to get away with this. They have such an impressive way of doing things:

I've never lived in Utah, only been there like 5 times, but it's nice. I'm considering moving there next year to go to school.

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS), lol that's our church's full name, we don't care if you're not a member. Any sort of "outsider" feeling you may get is just because people are humans and do human things.

I know a lot of Utah LDS people and if they have any animosity towards non-LDS people that move there it's the people that move there and then blame the church for all of their misfortune and claim "tHe ChUrCh OpPreSsEs Me REEEEEEEEEEEE" then they try to change the laws and just complain in general. So, basically like most any conservative state where liberals start moving in and wanting to make it like their failed previous state. If you're conservative, it's likely not going to be a problem, other than alcohol.

I grew up LDS and kinda left when I was a teen, but some of the stuff just blew my mind. This being one of them. But also the caffeine thing. My sister went to BYU and at the time (not sure if it's still this way) they couldn't even sell caffeinated drinks on campus. So vending machines? Good luck getting a plain coca cola.

Their dorms and housing? Absolutely no opposite sex people together unless they're married. Not even to come in and hangout. Which is lame as chit for obvious reasons, but cool too, because what would happen is everyone would just keep their doors open. So you could just be walking by randomly making friends. BYU also shares a lot of housing with UVU (where one of my friends went) and even though he wasn't at BYU he had to still abide by their honor code. So he couldn't have girls over either.

That's how I was like 95% of the time I was in my own home. I'd get home from work/whatever I was doing, then immediately get buck nekkid then just put on some loose fitting athletic shorts. That's how I'd sleep too. Got to let the boys be able to breathe and move around freely. I could never sleep with actual underwear on, always would get my nuts jammed and twisted.

I used to wear ExOfficio give-n-go boxer briefs. They were super comfy and a "dryfit"/wicking material.

Our garments have been improved over the years, mostly made of more modern materials/fabrics. The bottom really isn't bad, basically just a boxer brief but it's pure white. My biggest personal problem with them is having to wear what is basically just an undershirt. Previously I didn't like and would never wear undershirts. Makes me feel kind of claustrophobic and it sucks during the summer heat here in AZ. Not too bad during fall/winter/spring though.

I grew up LDS too. Was inactive/agnostic/whatever from like 17-25. Most of the LDS folks I knew growing up would consume caffeine, there's not official doctrine about caffeine specifically. The thing is "hot beverages" (coffee) and (non-herbal) tea. I don't care for either, I get that it seems silly to a lot, but whatever I don't care. I just take $0.05 caffeine pills if I need/want caffeine.

Yeah BYU didn't sell caffeine soda on campus until a couple of years ago. BYU has an honor code, they try to keep out a lot of degeneracy. They just want to uphold the religion's standards. People can go to any other university if they want. I don't have a problem with the honor code, what I have a problem with is the LGBTQFIAFBAFKJFCJLKIEWRU alphabet people that try to reeeeee "oPpReSsIoN" and change BYU to be like any other university.

I've never even attended a uni, only have 6 credits of community college under my belt. Self-taught myself everything I needed to know to get a middle class paying job at a software company. I never had the desire to have the normie-quintessential "college experience". But now I'm selling my house and I'm thinking of going to BYU because I can get that sweet member-only subsidized tuition rate, I can pay for an undergrad 100% cash (cost of living, tuition, everything). That, and I need to go find me a wife to propagate the species lmao

If you're young-ish looking, or even just an interesting person, that would be the best way to do it.

I've switched over to the Duluth chill boxer briefs. I didn't like the kirkland ones.

Remember anthrax? I lived in the town that that stuff came through. My town had a national distribution center or whatever for the USPS and that’s where all the anthrax came through. People didn’t even give AF lol.

I can't imagine living by religious rules that aren't law. Keeping up with what I can or can't do, or should or shouldn't do based solely off some ancient teachings that originate from somebody that took a book way too seriously?

No caffeine? Wearing specific underwear? I didn't even know these were things. No thank you. Just be a decent person, follow the laws. You'll be ok.


And BTW, churches have regularly welcomed some of the biggest perverts and hypocrites the world has ever seen.
