What a weird thread to find on the Misc. Thought I was on Reddit for a second.

My parents were married over 40yrs before my father passed away. Hers were married for over 30yrs before father passed away. We're at the 1 month mark only but I'm hoping to make it atleast 30yrs before I kick the bucket.

Well you also shouldn't believe what people say..especially on Internet. Moreover, even if you think your marriage is successful, you have no idea what the other person is thinking. And moreover two, you may feel different emotions different stages. Unless of course it's you, because you were perfectly happy until you found out what your husband really was like.

I can claim whatever I feel like. This thread is about still being married, because litereally EVERY THREAD ABOUT MARRIAGE ON MISC IS ANTI MARRIAGE.

So yeah, I'm gonna shout out to all the people out there still together in a time where half these things end in divorce.

Not exactly. Divorce and cheating aren't acts of God or nature. They're consequences of actions, who you are, and who you choose.

It can "happen to anyone" in the sense that the future is unknown, but in some cases the probability is very low while in others it is sky high. The divorce rate isn't something that is evenly spread out throughout the whole population regardless of who you are. People tend to be biased when it comes to themselves and their own marriages, but from the outside, these things aren't hard to predict.
