Whoops... Forgot to take pics. I made two batches. The first batch was great and the flavor was on point.

The second batch was good, but not as good as the first. For the first batch, I used Madras curry powder from very reputable Vietnamese brand and I guess it's the only brand that the Vietnamese actually use to make their curry... I ran out of that and substituted in McCormick Madras curry powder for the second batch and I think their curry spice blend is not well-balanced for Vietnamese curry. Oh well, now I know.

Sweet and savory broth with the aroma of curry, lemongrass, ginger, shallot, and garlic. Rich and lightly creamy from the coconut cream, but just creamy enough for an easily slurpable soup. There was a little bit of pleasant heat from the jalapenos and red pepper flakes that I mixed into the curry broth. Swimming in the soup were cubes of fried potato, sweet caramelized carrot chunks, and savory spiced meatballs (which are nontraditional, but I needed the protein). Then everything poured into a bowl of rice noodles and topped with chopped cilantro and green onion for a smack of freshness, and finally a squirt of freshly-squeezed lime juice for some bright acidity to cut through and complement the rich broth. A very warm and comforting meal.
Lmao read imagine reading forum paragraphs congratulations

I haven't made it. I'll take my cousin to an indopak grocer this week and get the ingredients. If I had Mondays off and more people to cook for I'd like to make saag feta, Bombay potatoes, channa masala, turmeric rice, etc and make big vegetarian Indian burritos for Meatless Monday.

Claire is a good choice. I hope the two of you run into each other during Purim and do body shots.

No más, all work travel is on hold until further notice. I have one more trip this week I can't get out of and then I'm home for a long while.

This stew is surprising, it has fennel and Aark, both anise-y flavors I don't always tolerate but in this stew it really works.

My dinner last night, date out with my guy:

Salmon salad with avocado, mandarins, goat cheese, roasted carrots and bunch of other good stuff. It was massive! Only ate half.

His was a bowl with sweet potato, rice, beans and blackened salmon.

-1 to 1.5 pounds of Hillshire Farms beef hot links. Sliced.
-1 medium green bell pepper. Chopped.
-1 medium onion. Chopped.
-2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce.
-1 (14 ounce) can diced tomatoes. Drained well.
-1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce.
-1 teaspoon basil leaves.
-1/8 teaspoon garlic powder.
-1 (1-pound) package rotini noodles.

* In large skillet combine Hillshire Farms beef hotlinks, green pepper and onion. Cook until green pepper and onion are tender crisp. Stir in next five ingredients. Simmer uncovered for 10 minutes. Staring occasionally. Prepare rotini according to package directions drain. Top rotini with hot link mix.
* I just mix the beef link batch into the noodles so all the noodles get coated. Makes for great left overs.

Pics of my fridge and freezer. It’s a counter depth, so room is limited. One day I’d like to have a freezer in the garage.
Thank you for the recipe!

I use those little bins too, they're so handy for keeping organizedI don't know what creepy quirks I have that make me want to see the inside of everyone's fridge and freezer but I love that chit. r/FridgeDetective is my idea of a good time.

Madninja - those baskets in your fridge are annoying AF. I could see why you would need them in the freezer side, but damn, if I have to dig through baskets to find my food - it ain't happening.

Husband's dinner from a couple nights ago, ground beef pesto pasta with asparagus, peppers, tomatoes and garlic toast I made from some rolls I had laying around:

Tonight was lemony roasted cauliflower and lamb over labneh. I did the labneh by hand - whole milk yogurt was cheap

I made chorizo stew (soup? stewp?) with what's shown (red potatoes and a can of cannellini beans being less obvious), plus a ton of smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, red chili flakes, and salt and black pepper. I started with oil, browning and caramelizing the red onion and garlic (smashed and sliced for different effects--I watched a video about this, and apparently garlic can do fun things when treated differently), jalapenos, and the red spices. Things got smokey. One of my cats (they like to watch kitchen happenings on my fridge), let out a little "mew" and I turned to see his face covered in tears and a legit runny, snotty nose. Grabbed him and put him beside the open window. He was fine.

Anyway, after that, did a "reduction" with some beef broth, then started the stewp base with cheap cab sauv, more beef broth, and water. Lasted many meals from Sunday-Wednesday.

By the way I love this thread.. if there's anything I lurk harder for than hnng threads, it's this.

I'm glad you're here!

That stew looks and sounds killer, I'm glad your kitty was okay. I see that watermelon vodka in the background.Tried it over Memorial Day last summer, it's good!

Ukha - Salmon and vegetable soup. Not sure why my pics lately look like they were taken through an Oprah filter.

72 Hour Pizza Dough

Sausage/Pepperoni Pizza

Cheese Pizza (Old School NYC style where you put slices of cheese as the base and ladle sauce on top)

The crust blew up a bit more than expected, would stretch out this one more next time.
