What's with the name "Corona virus"? Conspiracy?

It's peculiar.

This is all me speculating, and if the virus is as bad as people are acting thus far.

In Spanish "Corona" means crown.

There's that figure of speech"crowning achievement", etc.

Crown signifying the top, best, ultimate, etc.

Is there info as to why it was named that?
The billionaire and the beggar both have 24 hours in a day.

I heard it's named that because the virus itself resembles a crown, or that your cells after becoming infected, resemble the crown. Something along those lines.

It's a man made virus made by the Chinese, they are very proud of their specimen so they named it accordingly.

US Government is in on this too in aims to thin the crowd a bit/create a distraction so they can do their evil doer deeds while everyone is panicking.

Pretty sure it was uncovered this was patented in the U.S. in 2017 and likely stolen by the Chinese.

I wondered the same why no one adequately answered the question prior to your post. You are right but I think a lot of the ignorance is because corona isn't a common word. I think a better more accessible name wouldve been "spikey ball thingy".
