So does covid 19 causes pnemunia to 100% of effected?

absolutely not. that's why the vast majority of cases don't require medical attention. all PNA needs medical attention

PNA is a complication, the other things are symptoms
What is you advise towards non infected vs your advise to the infected
wash your hands, don't touch your face, wear a mask, consider public consumption risk vs reward given the current circumstances -- not necessarily because if you catch the illness it'll be so bad, but spreading it to others that are at risk for developing PNA.

infected...stay home unless you require immediate medical attention. drink fluids, motrin/tylenol for fever, don't go to the ER just because you have some symptoms. treat it like any other virus and stay away from others.

Chit if you’re on oxygen and they are running out of oxygen then how tf is everyone going to survive when we run out and hospitalize are full?

Yikes OP! I'm glad that you're starting to feel better and hope you get to go home soon. That sounds miserable. I've had walking pneumonia and it took months to feel better.

This will be the factor X for the mortality rate

In Italy elderly people die because they don’t have enough equipment to everyone so they don’t treat 60+ ages anymore

Brb its just a mild cold. But also brb, I need steriods and oxygen to breath and not have a heart attack. Sounds bad to me.

In context to the hospital, you'll receive care in chairs, on the floor, on a couch...outside. we would triage people based on severity of illness and basically those that need breathing tubes/airway supportive devices (CPAP, BIPAP, Vapotherm, intubation, etc.) would be at the front of the line for beds/rooms. Once the upstairs of a hospital is full it's full, the ER becomes the saturated warzone that can't close its doors. it has already been happening to my facility this year just from the flu -- regularly having 3x the amount of patients that we have beds in the department during peak times. In the last two months I've done insulin drips on DKA patients and cardizem drips on cardiac patients in wheel chairs (those are both considered ICU patients).

Strong props to those in health care right now having to deal with this chit because good chance they will catch it too. OP, does it feel a lot worse than the flu?

I'm worried for my dad who is elderly and already has had health complications. Hope he doesn't catch it

not much to test now except f/u chest x-ray's to track improvement. the steroids/antibx appear to be making the cxr's improve

Probably more or less a common cold, but, if you have grandparents or come into direct contact with the elderly, you're a potential vector. Oddly enough I don't think the impact of the virus on the individual is that bad, however, I think its impact on the herdisthat bad.
Thanks, the media has overblown it but the administrations in italy and us have been inept and stupid, look how well south korea is doing.
