Kijiji has pulled all ads for toilet paper and disinfectants, due to people reselling at high prices. LOL

Good. **** em.

At most, people would've bought 5 or 6 bottles of wipes and sanitizer to last them for 6 months to a year. What these guys did was create an artificial scarcity so they could profit off of fear.

Its not like most of the elderly people will know how to find the products online. I guess there are no laws against it in Canada. I sent an email to my local MPs. I'm hoping if enough people send out emails or go into their local MPs office they will look at making laws against this.

I'm against people buying up supplies and then selling them at high profits.

However, for legit retailers who supply it and sell it regular (meanting before the pandemic) I think that price gouging, although not pleasant, prevents shortages.

Most horders are idiots that don't make that much money. Hard to horde up all the TP when it's $20 a pack instead of $4.

There is a couple (from Canada I believe) that we’re going to Costco and buying the entire shipment of pallets of Clorox wipes ...I believe they made 30k profit in the last 2 or 3 weeks.

Amazon shut them down as well..

Or he could sell it a normal pricing. Amazon made the right move here. This is epitome of greed.

Except you are making it that people that are barely being able to afford the products in the first place cant afford them now.

That's ridiculous that they could buy pallets. Stores should have limited this stuff right from the get go.

From the article it says that Tennessee has anti-price gouging laws and the Tennessee AG is now investigating him.

nobody's forcing you to have internet, but I'd be damn sure you'd be immensely pissed off if you had to pay double what you do now.

Hand sanitizers/disinfectants are pretty essential during a viral pandemic, especially to those who have to take public transit and/or cannot work from home.

OK so if the price of internet was doubled then I'd have to make a choice whether I'd like to keep paying or do away with it.

Am I missing something here?

Do you think you could go without internet for more than a few days? I highly doubt it. You'd be forced to pay their exorbitant prices.

This is the equivalent of all other service providers being down with only one running and doubling their charges.

Yes.

There are alternatives to having internet at home: Library, Starbucks, McDonald's, etc.

Also stop comparing the importance of the internet to ****ing hand sanitizer.

What next?

Why not swing for the fences and compare hand sanitizer to food or air while you're making ridiculous comparisons?

In this case, hand sanitizer is a lot more important than the internet. And no, you would not go more than a few days without internet.

Also your point about going to McDonald's or Starbucks is moot, because people trying to buy sanitizer can't really go anywhere else to buy it because shops are out of stock because of the hoarders/price gougers.

It's not a necessity, as food or water would be, or as effective as hand washing, but it's incredibly effective at killing the virus if used in proper amounts. A simple rub of sanitizer could possibly save someone a hospital trip.
