And there you have it. My hospital alone has confirmed cases and they are very healthy, non smokers, in their 20s.
FYI, survival doesn't mean you won't have permanent organ damage (lungs, kidneys).

Calm down
The report included no information about whether patients of any age had underlying risk factors, such as a chronic illness or a compromised immune system. So, it is impossible to determine whether the younger patients who were hospitalized were more susceptible to serious infection than most others in their age group.
30% of Americans aged 20-39 are obese, btw
According to the CDC, "obesity is higher among middle age adults, 40-59 years old (39.5%) than among younger adults, age 20-39 (30.3%) or adults over 60 or above (35.4%) adults."

Honestly if I got infected and died I'd be ok with it.
LOL if you haven't made peace with your imminent death yet.

"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

misleading title.
what % of they of total infected young people?
what % of they of total infected young people?
In the C.D.C. report, 20 percent of the hospitalized patients and 12 percent of the intensive care patients were between the ages of 20 and 44, basically spanning the millennial generation.

I think this is also a function of the fact that the elderly people in the US are actually taking this super seriously while there are plenty of "it's just the flu" douchebags who are still out there living it up and ending up dying in the hospital with a Darwin Award nomination.

"Hey folks. Good News: One week after testing Positive, in self-isolation, the symptoms are much the same," Hanks wrote in the caption of a photo showing his antique Corona typewriter. "No fever but the blahs. Folding the laundry and doing the dishes leads to a nap on the couch."

The US has 100+ deaths and none of them were under 50.
In addition, if you end up intubated with ARDS and medically paralyzed etc etc (ARDS protocol). You can certainly make it, and statistically you probably will if you're young and healthy. But once you emerge, you now can't climb a flight of stairs without gasping for air. It may take years and years to even get remotely back to normal, and you probably never will be fully normal.
The statistics focus on mortality and survival - they miss the complication rate.

We already have two threads dedicated to this virus, so lets keep it in there. There's no reason to spread FUD about this, we all know what's going on. If you're young and healthy and you get it, you're likely to survive it. Once you've had it, your immune system will develop an immunity to it so you'll never get it again.
