Happening in NYC too. It's a real shame that we are like this. If anyone wonders, its a good chunk of why I am so "laser focused" on the mask issue.

It will get worse before it gets better is a far cry from "we will be Italy" and "it's full blown exponential growth" that the doomsday mouthbreathers were spouting off in here about earlier. I swear half the posters on this board WANT it to become like italy to justify their fear mongering and constant hyperbole.

While most places shouldn't panic at all I also hate the other side of the spectrum where people are NOT listening to any of the governments wishes to try quickly end this. Of course I am all for freedom and not being dictated to but I am pretty sure if like a beach in Australia closes down and you're told please do not go there for now you can just not fuking go there and start helping.

The problem is resources and policing this is not practical, but I would be down there giving every single one of them a substantial fine, and if they repeat it keeps going up until jail time. People who have this strain and are aware of it that still go out to crowded places should not get a fine, they should have felony charges.

These people treating it like a joke are the sole reason governments are taking such drastic measures and people like myself are fked because I provide a service that I can no longer do.

I’ve seen it all over social media the same people laughing at it 2 weeks ago are now all panicking.

So no money coming in and a hell of a lot of bills that are going nowhere.

Suicide is going to spike during this period

When the government leaves schools, shops, casinos etc open and is still letting cruise ships dock I can’t blame people for not giving a fuk and going to the beach

I apologize for engaging in that. I really just wanted this thread to stay on topic. I realize that arguing with him to actually engage and stop trolling was only making it even worse. Won’t happen again.

The very next material post was someone talking about mask shaming, which is really what I’m trying to change. Anyways, sorry again, I’ll stay in my lane and keep it on topic.

Madrid: a video has gone out in which theres a voice recording from hospital- she says those over 65 are having ventilators turned off for those more likely to survive. 65. Not 80+. 65. Theres a massive lack of equipment now. Madrid is the worse hit area in Spain.
The point above in bold- how bad it could get- has noone thought that survival rates in the younger infected are good because they get the treatment they need if hospitalized. So what happens when theres more and more of those cases? (Which there seem to be due to the increasing number of hospitalized 30 somethings making videos) Equipment is limited.
Follow guidline, abide by lockdowns and stay safe!
