hospitals run out of ICU beds all the time, pandemic or not.

this.

It doesnt have to be a total complete shut down to make an epic amount of difference. As opposed to allowing the usual amount of mass gatherings that happen to occur.

Thats why people who nitpick little events like people on the beach are so retarded because its more than enough. Stuff like that doesnt make a difference.

Again we aren't trying to not ever let it spread, we are trying to slow it down so hospitals can keep up with it.

However, if medical professionals are telling us we aren’t facing the reality of the situation, and in a relatively developed country like Spain is having to use ice rinks to store bodies, as the morgues can’t cope,

It’s maybe time to overestimate rather than underestimate, better to be cautious wouldn’t you say?
Most people only get mild symptons, the death rate isnt that high, as some people pointed out this virus has probably been here for a while now and no one even noticed until the media decided to shine a spotlight on it and claim the sky was falling. shutting down the country and plunging the USA into a depression is the wrong thing to do.

No I am not ok with that, do care about them. But I dont want 30% unemployment either. So we have to find middle ground.

Let's look at the facts:

1) Event 201 takes place October 2019 - a simulation of a global viral pandemic event among world leaders
2) Bill Gates steps down as CEO of Microsoft and instead focuses on ID2020 - a project that involves mandatory vaccinations and ID microchipping the entire world
3) Globalization and population control go together with these ideologies
4) COVID-19 coincidentally unleashes onto the world soon after

There does seem to be a global agenda in effect, don't be blind to it

Nobody wants the deaths and nobody wants the unemployment. This pandemic panic will cause unemployment anyways. Some people will be scared to go to work, go out, spend money, etc. Either you have a state of emergency shutdown and prevent deaths, or have a partial shutdown and an uncontrolled spread causing many many many more deaths and fear leading to more unemployment. The death rate now isn't bad because of the actions we are taking. The death rate can potentially be magnitudes higher without control, not just because of covid-19 but the many other diseases out there that wouldn't be treated due to lack of resources.

It's a lose-lose situation. The world leaders, health professionals, advisors, professionals who are very intelligent have weighed the odds and agreed this is the best course of action to take. I don't have the expertise they all have so I'm inclined to trust their decisions.

Sad that some people have to learn the hard way, even when told all the answers up front. Not very surprising to me to be honest, and I don't have much to worry about personally so it's pretty much popcorn time.

There are many flaws with what you're arguing.

1. People will still go out and spend money as shown with the issues of people going out to bars and clubs despite COVID-19 awareness until each state mandated curfews and lockdowns.

2. The government is the one forcing the shutdown, forcing many businesses to close as well as employees to be laid off. This isn't even about keeping social distance, this is a complete lockdown. It's not like the government can shut down all businesses for 3 months and resume like normal. Businesses will have already been closed and jobs will have already been lost. Plus the economic stimuluses combined with federal lending will have devalued the dollar, so you will be working harder and longer for less.

3. When we compare our actions with past pandemics - H1N1 for instance (which infected 60 million americans), this measure seems completely drastic for what the current statistics tell us. Testing for COVID 19 is flawed, which skews the overall death rate to seem higher than it is.

4. From what it looks like, most cases seem to be very mild, a vaccine will be a long time away. The young, able and working will be able to develop antibodies through group exposure and fight off the infection. The best measure for now to save everyone is developing herd immunity and isolating the elderly and immunodeficient, along with adding hospital beds and increasing staff

Bolsonaro says he 'wouldn't feel anything' if infected with Covid-19 and attacks state lockdowns

Brazil’s president uses national televised address to dismiss state-based health measures ‘scorched earth’ tactics

“The virus has arrived and we are fighting it and soon it will pass,” claimed Bolsonaro, who is facing a growing backlash in Brazil for repeatedly dismissing coronavirus as a media “fantasy” and “trick”.

“Our lives have to go on. Jobs must be kept … we must, yes, get back to normal,” Bolsonaro said as his government’s health officials announced that the number of deaths in Brazil had risen to 46 with more than 2,200 cases.

“A small number of state and municipal authorities must abandon their scorched-earth ideas: the banning of public transport, the closing of commerce and mass confinement,” Bolsonaro said.

“What is happening around the world has shown that the at-risk group are those over 60 years old. So why close schools? … Ninety per cent of us will show no sign [of infection] if we are infected.”
The jig is up. Time to hustle boyos. Enjoy your free time while it still lasts.
