There are articles that say it would only take 3 days for grocery stores to run out of food if long haul trucks stopped supplying them, with the average family having enough food for 2 weeks that is the time frame that would take for societal collapse if there was no law enforcement or government assistance present.

2 weeks for everything you know and are familiar with to go up in smoke. (srs)
Law enforcement will absolutely collapse first. Looting and robbery will be so common they will be completely swamped with calls. That's when the National Guard comes in and martial law is declared. They did it during Katrina, literally confiscated firearms from law abiding citizens.

Try 1 day to clear the shelves.

3 days is under normal demand and normal purchasing, nothing else going on, just the deliveries stop...most stuff would be out by then

Tax stamp on an SBR is $200.00 unless something significantly changed very recently.

Where you get $1,500 from? You including the cost of a firearm in that $1,500?

Primarily because I’m afraid that like bump stocks they may come for the AR pistol next arguing it’s essentially a SBR, besides that it’s easier to handle in CQC and it would be easier to use for the wife if there was ever a need.

I think I added up trust, engraving, converting ar pistol to sbr and stamp a few years ago and the amount just stuck in my head.

There are many free trust resources . . . even if you pay for someone to help you create one, it's not very expensive if you shop around. Engraving is like $40 around here. Stamp itself is $200--same price it's been since the 1930's when NFA was enacted (would be equivalent to nearly $4k now if adjusted).

EDIT: and with the changes through 41P/41F, a trust isn't even needed as much since the CLEO element changed to "notify" only.

Back when I was interested in getting a firearm I thought this was my perfect solution till I found out they have malfunction issues.

This would be perfect for me if it worked everytime.
