FUHHHHHHHHHHHHHK. Roja Dove announced they were re-releasing old frags as the "heritage collection" a week or so back. only one of interest to me was Amber Extrait (Vetiver is godly but Bergamot was ass), so I ordered a 2ml sample off ebay instead of blind buying.

This is totally "Rich Man's Valentino Uomo Noir Absolu". So damn gourmandy.

Top Notes:Bergamot, Orange, Lavender
Heart Notes:Geranium, Rose de Mai
Base Notes:Patchouli,Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Benzoin, Vanilla, Cocoa, Tonka Bean, Labdanum, Ambergris

In typical Roja fashion, it's nothing remotely new but the quality/experience is just next level. I have to get my hands on a travel atomizer.

I've got 10ml of Profumo and I just can't get into it. I know it's widely popular and so many people love it, but there's something really off-putting in my decant at least. Maybe I'll check it out the next time Im in a store, maybe my decant has soured, I dont know.....

No L4L coming any time soon. I need to wear Deep Blue a couple more times to decide if it's worth a full bottle.

I have a bottle coming from Etat Libre d'Orange next Monday, thats the only thing on my horizon.

It starts off really strong, projects like a beast.

Character is sweet gourmand, and kinda reminds me of some special brownies I once had tbh. The tobacco is quite prominent also.

It's weird because despite starting so strong, it's completely gone after 6 hours. I've never had something start off that strongly and not last throughout the day and to the next morning.


No Jovoys in my collection, nor have I nosed any. I've been recommended a couple, but nowhere local stocks them - only online - and none of my go-to decanters have any either. Can't blind buy full bottles cos i'm on that poverty college student time.

Scent of the Morning: Roja Dove - Amber Extrait

I completely missed out on the opening yesterday. It actually starts off similar to Roja's Midsummer dream with the soft citrus opening. That only lasts 5 or so minutes though. As the bergamot, orange, and rose de mai burn off... those darker sandalwood/cocoa/tonkabean notes come out.

This is a frag snob's wet dream. If you want to sit back and pick apart the scent development, you can. But if you're running out the door and need a "dumb reach" that simply smells good, it does that too. I'm at a loss because this release seems no less complex than PDLN2 but it's about a third of the cost. (Edit: because pdln2 is only offered in 100ml bottles rather than the 50ml)

Well considering 2014 was six years ago already... that is kind of a lengthy bit of time. Also probably because they discontinued Saudi less than a year ago.
