My firm does street lighting design for all kinds of municipalities. Street lights are becoming smart devices just like every other appliance. These network devices in them are simply used to control the lights in more advanced ways and monitor energy costs. All kinds of third parties have pitched to us their products that do this. Cities are too cheap to buy them though as they are extremely expensive and require subscriptions to their systems which cities do not want to give up control over. The only times these devices make sense are when lights for example are in remote park areas and tied into a battery pack on solar and the network device allows you to monitor it in case it needs replacing or maintenance. A single pole with a light like that can cost 12k+ for just the pole and light.

Especially if one of the transformers is already a "step-up for the antenna", so you're telling me that little board is providing power at more than ~5A and at higher than 120V? Lol fuk off.
