Nice ^. You can get the ECBP pretty consistently around here, will keep an eye out for that one.

It's an Irish night over here, having some Jameson

Finishing up the last of the Old Forester 2017 Birthday Edition right now.

I know this is a rare, high dollar bourbon but I still think it's just 'OK'. I like others way, way more.

Was cruising through the guide on DirectTV and ran across "Bourbontucky". Documentary about the bourbon industry and apparently it's a few years old, but I had never seen it before. Caught a good chunk of it, but am recording it now. Had interviews with a bunch of companies and their employees: Jim Beam, Buffalo Trace, Woodford Reserve, Angel's Envy, Maker's, etc. Talked about the history, processes, how close the companies are even though they are competitors, and other cool topics.

Worth a watch if you can find it. I didn't see the whole thing posted on YT, Netflix or Amazon.

I'll have to see if I can download that.

No matter how many times I come back to Woodford Reserve Double Oaked, it always surprises me how much I enjoy it. By far one of my favorites.

"Neat" is another really well done documentary, I think we watched that on Prime?

We also just watched "Straight Up", another bourbon documentary on Prime Friday night and it was pretty good. Dives into the economic impact that whole industry has on the state of Kentucky. Fascinating stuff. They interviewed a bunch of master distillers from the big names. You gotta love the Russells LOL

Wife gave me a bottle of Eagle Rare for my birthday - we're trying to spend very little during all this, but it was nice of her to splash out a little, she knows I love that bottle.

What are we drinking these days, fellas?

I've been putting back the usual Buffalo Trace and Evan Williams SB lately. I finished a bottle of Old Forrester 100 Proof recently that was REALLY delicious for 21 bucks.

Always go back to my favorites. Woodford or Johnny Blue. Finished a bottle of Evan Williams small batch recently, it was very nice.

How do you all feel about the flavored whiskeys? Old Camp makes a peach/pecan that is perfect on ice for the summer. My wife also has been on the Screwball kick, and I like that straight up or with some Baileys.

Opened up my ETL and RHF the other day. Tastes even better at home than having to order it from a bar/restaurant. The environment really changes the overall experience.

Anyone a fan of Barrell Bourbon? They're all blends but my only experience (batch 16) was delicious as hell. Reasonably priced around 80 or 90 bucks when you compare it to some of the hyped stuff like Blantons or Jap whiskey.

Picked up a small bottle of Jameson Caskmates (stout version). Local store had em on a ridiculous sale. Stuff is pretty damn good.

Also finally picked up some Teeling (rum cask). Also delicious.

Sampled a couple at a whiskey festival I went to a couple months back and really enjoyed what I tried.

Which reminds me, I never posted this pic. This was parked outside. 2400 gallon cocktail mixer on wheels.

Interested in collecting various kinds of whiskey as a hobby grabbing bottles here and there. Bought some Jameson and a couple of other call level whiskeys while grabbing beer from the liquor store. Bought a 1.75 of Maker's for $50 on sale today that I can't wait to try.

Saw they also had rare eagle for like $45 or something and Buffalo trace for $40- Given those 2 options which would you pick?

Both of those are a bit high, but I'd take Buffalo Trace over Eagle Rare.

In.... I'm late to the party. But while I'm on lockdown for 4 weeks I decided it'd be a good idea to try something new(I'm usually a wine guy). So I bought
2× jim beam black
2× woodford reserve
1× buffalo trace
1× trails end
1× bulleit- I haven't tried this yet.

I've never been a whisky or bourbon guy but I've really enjoyed all of these. I think my favorite at the moment is the woodford reserve. So smooth... everything g else has been really nice too.

I’m a huge Jameson fan, $40-50 a Bottle over here which is cheap believe it or not our liquor gets taxed something crazy. Best cheap whisky you can get here for me, also tried all of the teelings up until last week I’d noticed they are stocking a new one at the local shop now so I’ll try that one soon.
[img]https://i.imgur.com/LMPKvgz.jpg[img]
Have this one too! Beautiful decanter that for sure contributes to the price tag (got mine for 150$, which isn't too far off retail of 130$), but there's no arguing that it's great juice.
