I feel bad for those poor birds, but I look forward to the threads to come, assuming they survive the night, huddled against the cold in terror of being eaten by cats or beaten by children.

Thanks for the heads up brahs. I moved them into the room with its own heater tonight so I can keep it 90F+. Tomorrow I'll go get a lamp.

Put a soda bottle with warm water in it and wrap a small towel around it. They'll huddle up around it and keep warm.
Might need to put more warm water in it during the night..
Best of luck Catbrah.

Yeah I'm mad about that too, but they'll be ok tonight. Room they are in is over 90 degrees right now with the heater I put in there. Will go back for a lamp tomorrow.

Bet pool on how many will be alive in 2 months.

First, tons of cats.

Secondly, no idiot should but chicks without knowing they need a heat lamp and one you can regulate so you don't accidentally become Colonel Linuxjohn.

Third, they won't do well as indoor chickens. Sure the chicks are cute but you'd have to put up a laying box inside and deal with chickenchit all the time. Build a co-op outside for the to transfer to and a couple acres of land you can fence off from predators when they're out free ranging.

Lastly, handle them early and often. My parents had chickens that my kids helped raise. One got so docile that my then 4 year old daughter could walk right up to the chicken and pick her up. Chicken dgaf since it had been handled since birth.

He'll probably move the cat tree to the wife's bedroom and put the coop in her bathroom

This, absolutely fkn disgusting.

It's worse than having a filthy house covered in junk, trash, cat hair, chit & piss with filled litter trays that haven't been changed for days....oh wait.
