240am here. Watching TV while everyone else is asleep. I go back to work tomorrow night so I'm staying up until 5 this morning. Switching back and forth between a night shift and daytime when I'm off really diks with your sleep. ****** will knock me out but I still wake up after about 4 hours.

I have a similar schedule, I don't using any drugs tho. I get off at 8AM today, and I'll be off for a few days . Today, I'll sleep around 11 AM, wake up around 6:00 PM, and somehow be able to get a full night sleep if I sleep again around 12AM.

I used to be able to do that without help. Then as I got older and developed an over active thyroid, started on sleeping pills. Worked for years until it didn't, added melatonin. Worked for a while but now I'm 37, been on nights for 15 years, and have graves disease.

Last year I had shoulder surgery. I would be relatively pain free in the weeks after until bedtime when id have to take a dose of Vicodin to be able to sleep. Once I was done with the Vicodin, I found I couldn't get more than 2 or 3 hours sleep. So it was either turn into a junkie or get a prescription sleep aid. I chose the latter because it wasn't the high I was chasing, it was the sleep. My thyroid has kicked into high gear. I'm ded srs that my pre-sleep routine is an ****** to knock me out, an OTC sleeping pill to keep me out, and 20mg of melatonin for the REM sleep. Every day
