I've worked for various Hilton, Marriott, and smaller brands.

Rates vary greatly on a nightly basis based on supply/demand of the local market.
mid-scale hotels like Hilton and Marriott can be anywhere from $70 to 300 a night (rate for the general public, no including special rates)

if you want the cheapest rate available to the public, just google any hotel, and it'll show all the 3rd party rates like expedia, hotels tonight, travelocity, etc., pick the lowest. That's basically it. Those rooms on those 3rd sites were already bought by the 3rd party. You're paying the 3rd party directly, not the hotel itself.

If you really want the lowest rate, you have to know someone who works for a hotel. They have access to rooms as low as 29.99, nice rooms too.

How often do hotels buy new mattresses? Would it be worth bed factory owners to cut supply deals with them if they in fact buy in bulk?

Same question for meat, do they have in house butchers or just chefs?

Absolutely, male managers hire for the front desk based on looks. Not because they are actually trying to bang em themselves, but they know they'll get beta simps to stay at the hotel just to look at and talk to the HBBs. And HBB front desk agents will get better guest satisfaction surveys which corporate managers and owners look at. I read one survey where this dude called one of our HBBs a "heavenly angel with beautiful hair ". Dudes steady complimenting the looks of female front desk in surveys and online reviews. Plus HBBs generally have superior social skills to work the front desk and women are better multitaskers than men which is a big part of the job.

I worked banquets at one hotel, my now wife was my coworker. She approached me first. outside of that, I've always had a strict don't dip your pen in company ink rule.

Most Disgusting ? Blood and feces smeared all over the bathroom walls, tub, toilet and floor.

But something more notable, a 12 inch blue rubber dildo that was recently used. gross...

in my convos with GMs and other managers, about every 10 years. Most hotels flip matts every 6 months to preserve them as much as possible. Yea both the hotel and bed factory could benefit greatly. dat dere bulk discount for the hotel and money/referrals for the bed co.

to answer the meat question, hotels that serve free or even counter paid breakfast , it is all frozen meat from a B2B food supplier , most places get weekly delivery.

I've never worked at a luxury hotel, but I did work at a upper mid scale with banquet food service and full service restaurant that being said, most hotels with full service restaurants and banquets , there is no butcher. They buy their meat/fish stuff frozen from a B2B supplier. A lot of hotel food can be bought at any grocery store. Even the "nice" stuff.

I've caught coworkers (guy/girl) making out and getting handsy in the elevator closet inside the employee break room, they were off the clock, I think...the guy told me, please don't tell our manager. I kept my mouth shut.

I've heard a story at a sister property where the maintenance guy and a housekeeper had actual intercourse in a vacant guest room. Another employee walked in on them in the act. needless to say, the 2 people caught were fired.

At another hotel, one of the overnight front desk guys, he was letting his gf and other friends stay in vacant rooms but was not registering them in the system, telling mgmt or got permission. He probably had relations with his gf in a room.

attached, the blurry black box on the desk with the green light, that is used to activate key cards for all the guest rooms/pool/gym,entrances, meeting rooms/parking gate

I'm holding a roll of receipt paper used for when people but snacks, drinks, razors, etc, from the sundry market next to the front desk.

1st hotel was actually a budget motel with exterior corridors , medium sized city in the midwest, avg, rate like 50 dollars a night. we were right off the interstate freeway. mostly locals looking to party/do drugs, locals cheating on their S/O, local prostitution and drug dealing, truckers, old folks traveling the USA for leisure.

2nd: upper midscale hotel of major brand , large banquet/meeting space and semi-luxury rooms. full restaurant and room service. top 5 populated city in the US in a dense urban neighborhood right off the interstate. close to downtown. avg. room rate at the time was 130/night for a standard King. mostly srs business ppl M-F. weekends = wedding groups.

3rd: top 5 populated city in the US , upper midscale hotel appealing to young people looking for a hip, cool, and urban vibe. located in a "uptown" urban dense neighborhood, a lot of high end shopping and eating as well corporate buildings . avg rate, 110/night. the turn up, litty committee and families were the weekend crowd , weekdays were mostly just businessmen.

4th: top 5 city again, midscale business brand, suburban business park type of hood. dead on most weekends, just some family bday parties and staycations. sold out mostly monday to thursday with businessmen. but we had a problem with homeless drug addicts causing trouble in the lobby and we attracted alot of gypsys, heroin addicts ,scammers, and general degenerate behaving people through out the week. avg rate. 90/night

5th. urban airport location, top 5 city, kind of ghetto hood outside the airport. lesser known brand but its a nat'l brand. right off the freeway interstate. mostly truckers, blue collar business people, airline ppl M-F. Weekends, mostly families looking to swim/staycation. no hookers, some homeless people trying to lounge but swiftly dealt with, scammers were common. avg. rate 90/night.

yea, pro tip to always follow...do not use the duvet/comforter on the beds, they are not changed out after each guest. They are only changed when they're noticeably stained or damaged. Reason being, they take up alot of space in the washer and not cost/time efficient to wash all the time. If you insist on using the comforter/duvet, call the front desk and ask for a new one.

in my exp. alot more drug USING than dealing. weed usage of course is the norm. hard drugs though, mostly heroin with some scarface powder .

I'm sure I've come across some number of fugitives but it just wasn't obvious or easy to tell. Police never came by looking for a fugitive in my exp. It was mostly police encounters/arrests based on hookers, theft, and domestic violence.

No bar fights to my knowledge, but one of our bartenders almost got into a fight but walked out of work because a guest was being a dick using all types of racial slurs and comments directly towards him.

Hookers were common at the suburban business hotel and the "uptown" business hotel. makes sense because there's a bunch of solo business guys away from home.

Obviously they get clean sheets for each customer but what about the thick bed cover on top that is usually just for decoration, is that cleaned each time? Because I bet a lot of horny couples fuk on that and there's ass sweat all over it.

I had a hotel I loved in a city I travel to once a month for business, great rooms and location, I stayed there maybe 40 times

So last time there I drank a fifth of vodka and got absolutely hammered, I don't remember at all what happened but there was a big argument or something at the front desk and the police came and took me away

They left me in at the station until the next morning then I was free to go, I didn't get in any trouble so nothing too bad could have happened. My question is... do I dare go back there? It really is my favorite hotel. I'm just scared of them even calling the police again if I go back.

Do you record stuff like this in your computer system? When I go check in at front desk will a big red sign flash up against my name or something? Thanks

the thick bed cover for decoration, they absolutely do NOT change it everytime, don't use it , they are only changed out if it doesn't look passable for a new guest. Those things probably only get changed maybe once a month.

why? because those things take up alot of space in the washing machines, they are not time/cost efficient to wash and dry on a regular basis. hotels only want to spend labor, water, soap,etc money on just the minimum. which are the sheets, pillowcases, and towels.

yeah man all types, of sex, and bodily fluid, germs, bacteria etc. are on those

yeah you were def on camera at the front desk, and mgmt and some of the front desk agents remember you. you should call ahead of time before booking, there's a chance you were DNR'd ( put on the do not rent list) . get the OK first from the general manager, not just a regular employee or supervisor, the top manager, the General Manager.

to answer the egg q: if it's not a luxury hotel, the eggs at the free hot/continental breakfast or paid counter breakfast are probably bought already boiled. I say that because they're buying liquid eggs that can be cooked in a commerical super-microwave. They're not buying real eggs.

if it's a full service restaurant in the hotel, they are probably real eggs being boiled.

yes, large $$$ and stuff like jewelry gets put in the manager's safe immediately if found , only the top manager has the safe code, maybe the asst. GM would too.

yes, large amounts of illegal drugs get reported immediately to the local police to deal with. the drugs are held out of sight from the public in the GM's office until police pick it up.

to answer the egg q: if it's not a luxury hotel, the eggs at the free hot/continental breakfast or paid counter breakfast are probably bought already boiled. I say that because they're buying liquid eggs that can be cooked in a commerical super-microwave. They're not buying real eggs.

What do they do if you bring a pet into a no-pet hotel? Some places charge a fee which is almost as much as the room if you have a dog.
