I've hiked Rocky Top/Thunderhead and Mount LeConte via Trillium Gap and can confirm that someone could easy disappear to never be found again. I doubt there is much in the way of a conspiracy or rogue group of inbred, hairy people snatching kids up.

There's clearly foul play here but it was treated as if he got lost in the woods hiking.
Just writing things off as conspiracy theories is silly and you can't deny that the way the authorities act in these cases is very strange.
The case above was probably a kidnapping and murder which isn't some strange spooky conspiracy but why didn't the police treat it that way?

As in they can't cover that distance in that amount of time.

I agree that the vast majority of disappearances can be explained by animals/general difficulty of finding people in such an expanse.
However its these few cases where the fact pattern is not easily explained by those answers that freak me out. And some of the little facts that make no sense, like the guy who didn't have his boots, or the inability for dogs to trace their scent

The 39 year old doctor, now that one is definitely strange. 4.5 miles as a crow flies is a decent hike, but with an ascending, then descending a thousand feet each time over that terrain, yeah, that's wild. A thousand feet in distance doesn't seem too bad, but in mountains like that, it's tough. My guess is he got lost and got taken over by the elements. That caused him to behave as someone who had a lack of oxygen to the brain or overcome with cold-induced delirium (is that even a thing?). And that's what caused him to behave that way. I'm no doctor, expert, or rescue team member so my opinion is not worth much weight. Now, I haven't read about people just legit disappearing before people's eyes. Are there accounts like that?Have you read any of these cases? Some of them when the body is found defy logic.

They climb the fence and a long way into the field/woods find his other boot.
It's like something grabbed him and yanked him thru the fence.
Sorry I misremembered some details

Got all the books-DP is a fraud, he lost his job as a cop in the 1990's because he was misrepresenting his job to obtain celebrity signatures on memorabilia. He has promoted totally unscientific stuff about Bigfoot & while the 411 books are interesting as missing person cases/deaths in the wilderness he omits facts that don't suit his narrative-although he never comes out & says exactly what he thinks is going on-but as he sells them via his Bigfoot site it doesn't take much to see the theory he is promoting. It really is nonsense-old people & young kids cannot walk or climb, he has a fascination with berries & how they seem to connect cases-even decades apart-along with others things like water. In one case he even promotes the idea without directly saying so that Bigfoot abducted a young girl who was allowed by her idiot parents to go on a trip in the mountains with a neighbour to look for Bigfoot, he then concocted a story about them seeing a Bigfoot which snatched her.http://charleyproject.org/case/theresa-ann-bier

Haven't seen the second one, but the first documentary he did is a 10/10 for cinematography & as a murder mystery for the main case, as a case of anything paranormal happening as was the aim of the film it fails miserably.

But in some cases, it just doesn't happen. Or in some cases you know where a body is but you have to wait 3-6 months for a recovery due to weather conditions and all that jazz.
I know a few people that have died in wilderness areas. Fortunately they were recovered. Also know a few people and myself included that came damn close. In our cases our saving grace was having companions with us. But for the most part going out alone can be a literal death sentence. Catching your foot in a dead-fall/sinkhole and breaking an ankle/leg. A fall and dislocating an arm. Hitting your head. Etc.
I grew up spending a lot of time in the wilderness. Maybe 1% of these cases are animal attacks. Maybe .5% of them some person murdering them. I don't buy a mass conspiracy, aliens, etc. I don't care if you have 20-30 years of experience out there. You can easily take fall and end up out of action.

Explain this? It's impossible.
In 1952, a 2-year-old boy named Keith Parkins went missing from his home in Ritter, Oregon in the middle of winter. He had been playing outside with his jacket on, but he was far from equipped to spend the night outside alone. His family and a local search party looked for him immediately. They could follow his tiny footprints up to a point before they completely stopped. There were no other animal or adult tracks nearby. 19 hours later, they found Keith. He was about 15 miles away. He had taken his jacket off and was laying face-down in the snow on a frozen pond. Keith was alive. When they asked him why he had run away and how he survived, he said he didn’t remember.
A survival expert named Les Stroud filmed a segment for the Missing 411 documentary to demonstrate.

I'm usually right about basically everything when it comes to stuff like this.
80% accidental deaths, slipping off cliffs etc never to be seen again/eaten by animals etc
10% murders by the person they went hiking/walking with OR someone who has an agenda. Think crazy boyfriend/girlfriend who planned to kill them the whole time and had an alibi set up beforehand. No CCTV in the forest boyos
10% 'take a seat please'/weirdo/cult brah who legit live in the forest and kidnap people to sacrifice/kill.
No need for Big Cuck, Gayliens, Campires etc

Or this grand canyon raft guide who was with customers and other guides.
In a box canyon walls straight up!!!!
Morgan Heimer-22 years
Missing 6/2/15- Grand Canyon National Park, AZ
Hiking
Not Found
Morgan was an English major at the University of Wyoming and had a summer job as a tour guide for white water trips on the Colorado River. He was an outstanding swimmer and competent guide. Morgan’s group of boats pulled the group to the side of the river at a regular stop where they take guests up a side creek. Guests take a short walk to a pool where they jump off boulders into the water. The group was walking back to the boats along the small creek, Morgan was wearing his life preserver and was last in line when he disappeared. There was an extensive search by the National Park Service, nothing was found of Morgan or his equipment.
An employee that worked at the same guide company that Morgan worked contacted me. He explained that the other guides on this trip are completely baffled. The area he disappeared had a small creek with cliff walls on both sides. He stated that it didn’t seem possible that Morgan could disappear as he did.

The area he disappeared had a small creek with cliff walls on both sides. He stated that it didn’t seem possible that Morgan could disappear as he did.
lmao good swimmer means **** when 100 tons of water in a bad current pin you to a rock never for your body to be found again

The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann on Netflix is pretty good.
There is a missing person in my city now, it´s a real mystery on how he diseappeard, sp many wird clues have come up. Mand missing cases are pretty disturbing.

OMG!!!! I saw stairs in the woods that are probably 250 years old!!! Who cares.
All kinds of stories of mountain lions dragging kids off with their parents very close by. They can stalk from tree branches and they get you from behind. No kid or elderly has a chance against that.

A witness testimony, a reliable one
A police report made at the time it happened
In other words youtube vids made to create revenue arent reliable, even if the video is on something obvious like Tower7

I remember this case being posted on here with two backpackers disappearing somewhere in Costa Rica or Nicaragua or something and they later retrieved their camera and it had a bunch of strange photos on it
That one I found particularly eerie
