I think there will be a big change in the industry overall when it comes to cleanliness in common areas of the hotel, ie. elevators, luggage carts, lobbies, pools, gyms, ice machines, laundry rooms, breakfast areas. I think we will be seeing a lot more touchless hand sanitizer stations in those areas. And hotels will actually clean the room keys when they are returned to the front desk. Most hotels were not doing that.

that being said, if someone with a pet dog that isn't aware like you are, the front desk/ manager can ask " I see you have a pet dog in your room and we don't have it on file " and the unaware guest will just be like" oh crap, I "forgot" , my bad, " , then the hotel will reply with " No worries sir, just letting you know we have a pet charge of $x amount per night, can we charge it to your card on file?" and the unaware guest will be " uh ok."

Worked as a: beachboy, barboy, bartender, reservationist and then reception clerk.
Pay is low, collegues are mostly low iq, guests are either retarded Turks who thought they bought the whole hotel by renting a day or low level people from UK, most hotels are open for 6 months a year and it teaches you almost no skills usable outside work.
My hotel is closed rn due to corona but I dont really plan to go back

I think you work in a hotel that is in the middle of some big city right? You probably have big meeting rooms aswell for your guests. That is a business concept hotel, in such places employees do not get in contact much with the guests because that is not what your guests want. But in holiday resorts, beach resorts etc we are encouraged to make friends with the guests because tourists come to us to relax. They do not want formalities etc.

"A guy walks up to a reception. Asks how much for a night. Receptionist says 100 sir. Then he rents the room and goes to sleep. The next day as he was checking out he asks the receptionist to check him out. He checks the bill and it is 300 dollars with RF, SF and FF.
RF- 100 dollars, this is room fee
SF- 100 dollars, this is sauna fee. He says I didnt use the sauna then receptionist says "it was open all night, should have usen it"
FF- 100 dollars, this is fitness center fee. He says I didnt use the fitness center and to this receptionist replies "it was open all night, should have usen it.

What 'legalities' are there for asking for service dog papers? I would think there would be greater legal issues if another guest gets bit by a dog that isnt one

Why have you worked at so many hotels? Is the pay decent, or just comfortable and don’t care to try a new field? Just curious.
An acquaintance of mine has worked at the Radissen for over 5 years as “maintenance” you know like changing bulbs and chit, thats about all he can do mentally. But, he said he just sits in an empty hotel watching tv when there’s no requests lol

1. In those hotels that clearly allow escorts/hookers to hang around in their lobby/bar etc: is it management there that are on the take? What's the incentive for allowing them to be there? Talking about high end hotels here.
2. What is the real reason for staff co*kblocking each other when it comes to guests? I'm including 'when you get off work' type chit - seen this happen dozens of times. Are you (as hotel staff) prohibited from meeting a guest outside the hotel too? And, why are so many of the staff snitches about this? What kind of hotel exactly? Do they ever let employees stay in the top tier rooms?
I knew a guy who was a hotel manager and said the craziest thing he ever saw was a dismembered body outside the hotel property. Cops questioned him and the staff and he said it was some mob murder.

Say a hotel costs $200 a night.
You go in one morning, as for a room that night. They have available rooms that have not been booked and clearly won't be (lots of rooms or whatever).
You are only willing to pay...$100. or less.
Why don't they allow this?
