It's a great occupation with many challenges and stressors but definitely a destination for some drama queens. As long as they're playing the brownie points game, I've got a little more sympathy for physicians and especially residents with the amount of debt and burnout they incur, and have a suicide rate double the national average.

All i know is that the nurses and docs on the front lines will need serious therapy when things slow down and return to normal. Then the second wave in the fall starts this all over again according to some experts.

I've not once seen a nurse milking this pandemic to be honest, and i know 2 or 3.

What I HAVE seen are companies or groups of people who get off on virtue signaling telling us that we SHOULD be licking their collective vaginas for their efforts.

Oh ****ing please. My coworker posted a ******** how she is on the front lines and she's a radiology tech hahahah. Yea they signed up for this so the need to wear their big girl panties.

But here on the east coast alot of the hospitals are offering $100 hr contacts for nurses to transfer. It's crazy.

Im a nurse so my ********/insta friends list is filled with nursing sloots and my ****ing god it gets soo tiring but lets be real, these women were posting **** like this already and covid is just another way to get attention/ virtue siugnal


THAT BEING SAID... A lot of nurses literally didnt sign up for working in unsafe conditions without proper PPE and the criticism of we didnt sign up for this is valid.. Its like being an oil worker and the company doesnt give you a h2s monitor and **** while working on a sour well, youre probably not going to die from it but theres a chance

a lot of construction workers didnt sign up to be hit by a car while working, but it was always a possibility due to the nature of the job

a lot of gas station workers didnt sign up to be shot during a robbery, but it was always a possibility due to the nature of the job

I'm an ER RN. Yes, they are. As a matter of fact, non-ER nurses are milking it the hardest. Beware of any nurse that embraces being a "hero."

We are not heroes. Not even close. Our work is noble, but not heroic. Feel free to tell any of my self-back-patting colleagues that they aren't heroes. But I'll also take the free krispy kreme donuts

I would easily defer to law enforcement, people that face the reality of deadly force/violence routinely, heroic. At times, anyway.

As far as not having proper PPE -- that sucks, but it doesn't make me heroic. Far from it. At best it makes me noble for deciding to be slightly under prepared for a slightly higher contagious flu. It's therightwork to do.

ER RN's are the closest to what would be heroic -- any other type of RN is just being a self congratulating shill. Come at me.

I've held dead children in my arms dozens of times. Done CPR. Provided them rescue breaths, IV's, IO's, and broke the news to parents when they didn't make it. There's nothing heroic about that. If anything it's heart breaking and masochistic.

Working during a well controlled pandemic that isn't even something like ebola (super deadly) is par for the course. I'm ashamed of my colleagues and even a bit ashamed to call myself an RN at this time

These are false equivalents, lack safety measures arent the same as human error or violence... You think hospital staff havent been killed on the job because of someone coming onto the unit with a knife or gun? Not the same as an employer not providing a safe work environment within reason and industry standard

a better example would be a roofer working without a harness, again not safe in 2020

ok, but they literally did sign up for this. when you become a nurse you sign up to help sick people, even those on their death beds, and yes, even those who are highly contagious.

Ive never once heard a person in the military, who experienced combat and claim they didnt sign up for it.

I truly respect the profession. Soldiers, good teachers, good nurses+surgeons, firefighters, ect ect deserve maximum respect, but im over this. 90% of nurses are not in the high-risk bracket and most hospitals are now way below typical capacity.

Just saw a video of those nurses stopping traffic the other day, the video was shot by bystanders on their phones, and the whole event was completely staged. ‘Nurses’ walking around with Their own camera men and fake trump supporters pretending to yell at them while the professional camera men took photos. Wtf is going on?
