if they open things up again now... and every panic kunt goes to the hospital for a fever... the people who really need emergency treatment (related to covid-19 or unrelated) won't get it. probably why so many old people were dying in the beginning cause they don't get treatment fast enough
if anything the mass panic and hysteria is the problem here, media is definitely is not helping with that
i also did go to a doctor's clinic for my injury first... wait was 2 hours to see a doctor, and even then there was a slim chance of seeing one. so i said screw it and went to the hospital after an hour.

We have to get going in basic stuff. Like restaurants they can place people further. Staff wear masks, disposable table tops and menus, more stringent sanitizing measures.
What they’re doing is literally insane

We should be isolating just the sick and people likely to suffer deadly complications, not literally everyone.
It is also WAY less expensive to fund isolation for at risk demographics and with people still working we could more easily afford it.

Maybe it was necessary to isolate everyone for a week or two, just to make sure hospitals weren't overrun (which was a reality at first). Now things have just gotten out of hands. Politicians love the power and love being in the spotlight, and they lack the balls to just open chit back up because they know it will lead to a few deaths and they will be blamed.

We spent billions and tossed millions of people in jail in an effort to maintain the lie that fighting weed was worth the cost.
It wasn't and decades after this was obvious we finally started to pull back from such an asinine position.

Once that is in place there will be very little increased mortality due to opening back up. It wont be 0 but sh!tloads of people die from other things we are totally cool with accepting as a part of life.

When you have the flu, you stay home because you usually feel like absolute chit.
When you have COVID-19, you usually feel nothing so you go about your daily life having no idea that you are spreading the virus.
Quite literally, we would be better off if COVID-19 had the same mortality rate BUT also typically made everyone feel like crap if they had it.

the doctor who i heard from said yeah most people don't even know that they have covid, and if u think u have covid u probably do have covid, but after 10 days it's no longer an issue. he says the only time u should be sort of worried is when you have shortness of breath which is like I think he said 5-10% of people don't remember

This applies to very few people though and most of the people that it does apply to were at risk of dying already or were already terminal with something else.
The tipping point is the real deal. I have read reports that if you go on a vent 86% of the time your next step is the grave.
We need to nail down a drug protocol that stops the autoimmune response so more of the people with preexisting conditions can survive.
Until then we really need to keep the people at risk isolated from the general population because they have no idea that they are carriers.

If a vaccine actually happens, it would be an unheard of miracle. Sars was 2002, 18 years later we don't have chit.
Hell, AIDS is way worse, and there's nothing for that yet, either.

What we do know is coronaviruses in general elicit fairly short lived immune response in people (SARS and MERS patients had antibodies for about 12 months, after that they were vulnerable again).

If we just open everything up, people susceptible to it are going to die, a lot of them.
We would be way better off educating the public as to who should stay isolated and then let everyone else go back to work. Pay just the at risk people to isolate.
