No, not all. Only the ones who didn’t see through the professors trap and miss the plant question on purpose. A skilled and experienced group chat of cheaters will recognize that.

About 30% of the class got caught, willing to bet more than 30% were using google.

I hold a STEM degree as one of my credentials. I would say 80% of my cohort were far too dumb to even get past the first year. However, colleges don’t churn out geniuses. They churn out people who have been indoctrinated with obedience and how to toe the line. The world is an unfortunate place for Tier 1 intelligence people.

He basically entrapped them. He created (admittedly) an impossible problem. This would lead kids who otherwise would not have looked anything up and who possibly studied their asses off, to look up an answer because it seemed flawed or doesn't make complete sense.

Not fair, and not the same as simply writing a uniquely worded question (which can ALSO be answered truthfully and fairly) and seeing who put the exact/extremely similar response to the Chegg answer.

when I took the final exam for my seal if i didnt know the answer I answered the best I could, like how you should on a test?

I just took a final today online and we had to use a proctoring service that makes you show them your room, then they have a WebCam on you, you also have to share your screen and you cannot have an additional monitor plugged in. In fact I would say it’s more scrutiny than an actual classroom. Obviously the professor was too dumb to not use this service and went through the trouble of organizing a sting because hes subhuman trash

this is probably a undergraduate course with 800 students in it.... thats a lot of proctors

Obviously that's the best route to take, but it doesn't make my post or anything in it any less true. People will always behave in different ways, and either response would be reasonable. No doubt, with an "impossible question", some otherwise honest students were pushed to the point where they felt the need to look up an answer. If this were a criminal issue, where the professor was a police officer and the students were random citizens, this would be a form of entrapment, and illegal.

lmao calm down there. Most jobs can be learned on the job itself. Almost all programmers/developers get help on stackoverflow and sh*t. I'm in STEM and I've RARELY used my degree at all. Most of the stuff, I learned from my colleagues/peers and google.

This professors a tool. What does he gain from this? Does he actually think people aren't gonna cheat on an online exam? Cringeworthy.

He thinks he's smart, but he is shooting himself and his reputation in the foot. Over 75% of professors are adjuncts and their entire ability to eat is based on those ratings from students.


Further more, if student can't "get around" this professor, they will just transfer out the Uni, or take the class as a CC causing the school to lose money. He could also get complaints filed from "honest students and their parents" for putting an unsolvable question on the exam... making it impossible for 4.0 students to maintain thier GPA.





















If this professor is an adjunct... his career in higher ed is over after this semester. I hope he enjoys this little win, because the big L is coming.
