It's the same size as a G19, prototype compacts right there. Only two on the market with that combination of capacity, barrel length, and physical external dimensions

Then get a G26 or G17.

Walther PPS 9mm has been a very enjoyable pistol for me if you're looking for a single stack 9mm.

debating whether to buy multiple different weapons systems (ak, m1a, 12ga, etc) or just buy more AR-15's. I have tons of AR-15 mags and lots of 5.56mm ammo. If I just buy AR-15's I dont have to worry about mags or ammo (and I'll probably just use iron sights on most of them) So I could just give an AR to each person in my family and have a few extras just in case one gets broken, stolen, or lost.

Whereas if I buy an AK for instance, I also have to buy AK ammo, AK mags, and AK mag pouches.

Trying to stock up for doomsday / survival on a limited budget.

You are probably already overinvested in guns if that's your reason.

How many months can you go without leaving your house with utilities shut off and no deliveries? What would run out first? Work on that

I like having a variety, but that's mostly preference, if I was budgeting and only wanted guns I would use in SHTF then ARs would be a good way to go. You can share parts and ammo between guns, and ARs are very common so ammo and replacements parts are always abundant.

That said... I do love having range toys too.

Diversification helps you keep shooting during panics without eating into your preps. Example I am not shooting a lot of 5.56 (mainly just psychological reasons...I have enough to outfit 2 platoons easily) but I have been shooting (and ordering) 7.62x39 because I don't consider that a prep, just a fun trash can rifle.

I have AR mags for 7.62 and a second barrel for my Arak so I can swap it to shoot 7.62 but still haven't bought any ammo in that caliber. Might start getting it since it's cheaper.

The M1A is a cash sinkhole that will have you chasing accuracy and hating yourself for it until you finally get accuracy that any decent AR10 gets out of the box. I love my M1A, but the reason to buy an M1A is "I want an M1A" not "I want a .308" or "I want to diversify my guns.

If you want a very accurate longer range gun, look for a deal on a Tikka T3X in .308 or 6.5 CM. If you're buying an AK, make sure it's because you want an AK, because you can take the cost of your AK and divide it by 100 and that's how many cases you'll have to run through your AK before it's paid for itself in dollars saved.

It would make more sense to buy cases of Golden Tiger now and wait for ammo to become scarcer to trade that for a rifle than to buy a rifle now and sit around waiting for ammo to be cheaper.
