No, we won't, because nobody gives a fuk any more about 80 year olds dying. Stop calling people idiots for disobeying big daddy government when you're the idiot who's still scared of the big bad scary virus and thinks we're all going to die.

The US has totally failed at handling the corona virus pandemic when they should be setting the example for everyone else.

The people in California protesting because they can't get haircuts and go to the beach, just lol.
when measuring if they have totally failed the measurement needs to be relative to their abilities

Consider
- Generally one of the dumbest populaces on earth (high levels of religious beliefs, elect and absolute moron to run the country, ignore facts and forewarning about the virus, get advised to drink disinfectant)
- One of the weakest populaces on earth (obesity, high levels of pre existing conditions, high levels of smoking / alcoholism)
- One of the most beta populaces on earth (don't have the discipline to stick to a lockdown)

Consider all this, and I would say they have gone for par.

Btw americans... your guns won't fight off a virus

Another low IQ sciencecel doomer lmao.

Eat a fat dick.
On 17 March, Dr. John Ioannidis, Professor of Epidemiology and Population Health at Stanford University School of Medicine, published the below excerpts in the journal Stat from the International Statistical Institute:

“The current coronavirus disease, Covid-19, has been called a once-in-a-century pandemic. But it may also be a once-in-a-century evidence fiasco….

Reported case fatality rates, like the official 3.4% rate from the World Health Organization, cause horror — and are meaningless. Patients who have been tested for SARS-CoV-2 are disproportionately those with severe symptoms and bad outcomes. As most health systems have limited testing capacity, selection bias may even worsen in the near future.”

Dr. Ioannidis, whom we quoted in the 31 March Trends Journal, specializes in population health and pandemics such as COVID-19. He estimated in mid-March, based on the data at hand, a death rate close to 0.05 percent.

Dr. Ioannidis continues:

“A population-wide case fatality rate of 0.05% is lower than seasonal influenza. If that is the true rate, locking down the world with potentially tremendous social and financial consequences may be totally irrational. It’s like an elephant being attacked by a house cat. Frustrated and trying to avoid the cat, the elephant accidentally jumps off a cliff and dies….

[With] lockdowns of months, if not years, life largely stops, short-term and long-term consequences are entirely unknown, and billions, not just millions, of lives may be eventually at stake.”
In other related news, outside of failed scientific models:

In our 14 April, we reported that Scott Jenson, a medical doctor who also happens to be a Minnesota state senator, held up a state Department of Health letter directing physicians to list COVID-19 as the cause of death even for those not tested but just assumed to have had it.

Dr. Jenson stated, “I worry about that sometimes we’re so darn interested in jazzing up the fear factor that sometimes people’s ability to think for themselves is paralyzed.”

Dr. Jenson also noted that in the U.S., it pays to pad the coronavirus death numbers: “Right now Medicare has determined that if you have a COVID-19 admission to the hospital you’ll get paid $13,000. If that COVID-19 patient goes on a ventilator, you get $39,000; three times as much. Nobody can tell me, after 35 years in the world of medicine, that sometimes those kinds of things [have an] impact on what we do.”

100% chance there isn’t another quarantine. If anything else happens it’s going to ask people in risk groups to stay home.

Really, then what does it have to do with? You really think the people in charge want to crash the economy and hurt their re-election status?

The hospital I work at has had two nurses in their 20s, with no underlying conditions, die in the past week. This **** is no joke. Also, obesity, which is becoming a world-wide issue, is an underlying condition that Covid hurts.

There's a guy living over here that has taken this quarantine so seriously that nobody's seen him in weeks. It was so bad, the cops came to check on him. After almost 10 minutes, the guy finally answered the door, afraid to see the sunlight. it was comical.
btw fuk you op. stay inside and stay in that bubble you want to be in.

60 is not that high risk. Like I said, I know of two nurses in their 20s who died this past week from it. You apparently know more than scientists and epidemiologists, so you should inform them that they're wrong. They'd love to hear it.

Do you know anyone who has had it? I know four people (not counting the nurses), and it sucks. Three of them that had it are still having symptoms 7 weeks later. The only one in the clear now is only 3 years old. Anyone saying this is just the regular flu doesn't know what they're talking about

The issue is that you (and everyone else) will need to leave your house at some point. To get groceries. To get gas. To go to a pharmacy. Etc... Even the elderly and high-risk people who people say should be isolating will have to do these things.

The fewer people that have the virus, the less likely you (and they) are to get it leaving for those essential things. Also, the fewer people that need hospitalizations help prevent the healthcare workers from dying from it. My doctor friend and his family of four got it 7 weeks back and they still are all having symptoms (except their three year old daughter). It's really nasty.

You're just being a totally irrational feminine pussy.

You have to allow herd immunity to take its course, and allow the unfit to pass.

People are going to be exposed to the virus at some point, and the virus will never be completely eradicated by putting people on house arrest, against their will, violating constitutional law.

They've already destabilized the economy now they can just keep pecking away at our freedoms and doing stupid chit like having the national guard screen people before work until the vaccine comes out

I mean there was no need for any of this and anyone with an IQ over 99 knew this and were talking about it on here before Trump even declared it a National Emergency
