Again. Let's ignore the part where people need an income to live. You can bridge a very short gap with govt money- if this goes on long enough, there won't be jobs to reopen. It's insane and short-sighted AF to pretend this isn't going to have a MASSIVE consequence that also kills people.

FYI- and I haven't shared this yet. My brother had a lung transplant in October. The port his transplant center uses isn't compatible with the treatment center here. His California treatment center won't change the damn plasmapheresis port because it's "elective". He needs the treatment to not reject the lungs and they're turning him away like all the other "elective" surgeries that are actually life saving. Bull**** this nonsense isn't taking as many lives as it's saving.

Or restaurants go through so much product 1/10th of it is bad and they chalk it up as a loss. The consumer buys for what they need

Mechanical ventilation & intubation are interventions that are not rare in medicine and have their place. Many conditions pre-COVID19 required those interventions being used such as exacerbations of asthma, COPD, pneumonia, brain injuries, respiratory arrest, ARDS, drowning, congestive heart failure, etc. or even when being under anesthesia during general surgery.

That's the equivalent to me saying I've seen many patients with pacemakers.

I do. You can even go through my post history the past month or so where I'm right there behind you talking **** to the "it's just the flu" "it's no big deal" etc. crowd. I think about my elderly parents. I think about what me working at a hospital can mean for someone I care about. But enough is enough. You can't keep everything closed because of that. Take your precautions.. wear your masks, gloves, wash your hands every couple minutes if you have to. The lockdown/stay in shelter is in place to help the idiots that don't wash their hands, cover their mouths, etc.
