Here is the thing. You can open the economy and still be safe.
Treatments are on the way, a vaccine is on the way. Masks are already here. There are far more reasonable and useful mitigations than shutting down an economy.

It's the same logic as sawing off someone's legs so they don't get athlete's foot.

If this "virus" was here since January(some even say December), that means this virus is much more widespread than we think it is. Actually intelligent people are saying that there are likely 10-50x more cases than reported.

LA county for example, is said to of had 30x as many cases as reported.

"experts" can be wrong and many of the times they are. Just like a medical doctor misdiagnose things all the time, you should always question "experts" and follow the data. Following data and reading peer reviewed research articles are something that ANYBODY can do. The "experts" initially predicted 2 million deaths world wide and hundreds of thousands of deaths even with a lock down... they have been constantly wrong about their predictions throughout this whole pandemic. The "experts" in new york forced Nursing homes to take in people who were positive for covid19 and led to THOUSANDS of deaths. I am more shocked and surprised that people arent questioning the experts and doing their own research, you should NEVER blindly follow "experts." If you go to a doctor and they diagnose you or want you to do a major surgery, you should always get a second opinion and do your own research on the risks and complications of the procedure and to come to a conclusion on what you want to do to your body. you should do the same with this pandemic.

I'm not commenting on second wave or closing/opening, but what you posted is 100% inaccurate. Several densely populated areas (NO, NY, NJ, etc...) were overrun early on where critically-ill patients did NOT receive the life-saving care they should have/could have. Several other cities MAY have been spared this same fate by adhering to lockdown measures (i.e. LA). And that's just the US.

Again, not commenting on anything other than YOUR specific post of utter nonsense draped in useless vocabulary to seem smart.

A second wave was always inevitable with a lockdown as you keep healthy people inside, away from sunlight with the important vitamin/hormone Vitamin D, and drastically reduced their immune systems.

A lockdown was never our best course of action. Never in history have you quarantined the healthy. That’s not the purpose of a quarantine.

The millions of death models were with zero action taken (i.e. no lockdown). That is what prompted governments to start lockdowns. And yes, experts get it wrong, but they know a hell of a lot more about it than you or I do. Pilots also screw up sometimes, but do you tell them that you should be flying the plane and not them because you read an internet article about flying a plane and sometimes pilots mess up?
