10 shots sounds like a lot but it probably took 3 seconds or less.

Also kind of a weird number. Was it not to slide lock? 9+1 gun what's that? 10 mag and no +1 loading?

guessing Glock 19 and stopped when sure the threat was neutralized. Why go to slide lock, just because? Especially when his accomplice may have returned with a weapon.

Accomplice with a weapon is the reason for a reload.

Slide lock? I'd bet 10 rounds were gone in under 2 seconds from the time he started.

I'll bet, like, 1% of people who carry, legit carry a reload daily.

And I will also bet that 90% of those would be better off carrying first aid with that space instead of a spare mag.

Lets try posting this again.

They started doing 2 to the body and 1 to the head on our course of fire, since body shots aren't always a guarantee, especially with adrenaline going.

Also, related to the topic from the last page on holstering and shooting yourself: Got to work today and was told we had an investigator coming from Bakersfield. Turns out during the range qualifications earlier someone finished the course but kept their finger on the trigger when going to re-holster. Ended up shooting the ground (concrete) by their foot and too either bullet or concrete fragments to the leg and had to go to the ER.

As our main range Sgt always says, "Keep your booger hooks off the trigger unless you are actively shooting at a target." Not everyone listens.

For all we know the dude got dropped at the 4th or 5th round and he probably did stop shooting at 9 once there was no movement from the threat.

Pretty much every time I go to the range, or observe people handling a gun in a store, like 80% of people don't follow that rule. It's kind of followed about as well as speed limits

At least once per year we have a negligent discharge during range training, it's kind of sad.

Best was 2 years back at my annual, guns out at low ready for the next course of fire as the instructor explained it. Women next to me turns, loaded gun in hand, and points it right at my torso and says "What? I can't hear you." Instructor immediately grabbed her gun and pointed it back down range and said "no, no, we keep the guns pointed that way." Was great having her next to me on the firing line all day.

lol, I know that feeling. I've been the one with a gun pointed at him...multiple times now.

Unfortunately the best way to get a gun pointed at you, including a loaded one, is to go to a range or class.

Having been on both the student and 'instructor' side of this many times, I now realize how important it is for a good instructor to anticipate and position themselves to immediately, physically grab the barrel/gun/arms of a student when they, well, do that. Or fall, or go full stupid because a wasp flew by them, or get hot brass and totally forget they are holding a loaded gun...really, for the majority of people, they are no better at handling a gun safely while at all times following proper procedure than they are at driving a car safely and at all times following proper procedure.

Tip for those who haven't done it yet: Whenever the choice presents itself (showing up early and jumping out there can create the opportunity for choice in some cases)...always take a position on the right end of the lineassuming mostly right handed shooters.

Not just that, but 9 consecutive hits center mass PLUS a CNS dome shot on a (i assume falling target) at that point.

Question about lights and suppressors.

I'm getting my USP45 Tactical on Friday and want to put a light/can on it.

How do I know what light to buy that won't interfere w the suppressor?

Also any suggestions on a 45 suppressor?

There's a place by me that does the efile right there and they're quoting 30-40 day turnaround times for individual filings which is not that long at all compared to what it used to be.

the guy was probably down and ded after the 3rd shot. he just mag dumped the rest into the body while yelling SELF DEFENSE! and then turned did the tactical situational awareness scan while still yelling SELF DEFENSE. SELF DEFENSE.
