I've only tried the original CH Men, not the prive. It's one of my favorite fragrances, if not my favorite. I've only had decants of it but I wanna buy a bottle. Been a few years since i've smelled it but hopefully it's still good!! Gonna look into the prive as well.

Prive smells exactly like a leather jacket. If you're wearing a leather jacket, it's perfect. But if you're not, folks will wonder why you smell like leather, lol

The original is much lighter and sweeter, but still has a leather vibe. I'm a fan of sweet fragrances, so I like it more. Prive has zero sweetness to my nose. Both are masculine and perform pretty well.

Bro I don't understand how CH Men didn't spiral out of control like Sauvage did. It has that sweet sugarcane with a hint of suede. Nothing else smells like it. What a fuking awesome scent, lol. I'd say get a full bottle asap man.

I have to disagree with you on this one. Everyone who has seen my posts knows I despise leather fragrances because from the "heavy hitters" I've tested such as TF Ombre Leather, Montabaco and intensivo etc all I literally got was leather. No sweetness, no tobacco, no berries, just leather shoes. Point is, leather is too overbearing to my senses.

But with CH Prive I can for sure pick up the original CH DNA in there that gives some sweetness and some cardamom similar to la nuit's

Have you tied CH 212 Sexy Men? It's very similar to CH Men, except it doesn't have the leather or grass notes. More of a vanilla version than a leather version.

Has anyone tried any Montale scents?

Haven't gotten my nose on any samples, but their bottles, although somewhat cheesy looking, always catch my attention.

Most of their stuff has a very synthetic vibe, although there are a few decent offerings.

Chocolate Greedy is an OK gourmand, but would probably be my 4th or 5th choice for a chocolate fragrance. They have a lot of rose type fragrances, and while they aren't super natural smelling, they do tend to project and last a long time.

In the purple bottle? Yeah I have a couple bottles of that in my store. From what I remember, it has a similar vibe to JPG le male but I felt it had more character than the JPG.

I like ch men alot more because the sweetness isn't just plain vanilla. It has a distinct sugarcane note. My island was a big exporter of sugar so I know that smell really well and it brings back that nostalgia. Absolutely adore that note in fragrances.

how's Royal Mayfair?[/QUOTE]Das it mane @ pic. I have this bottle and another of the first reformulation. Obviously when I use this fragrance I use the newer bottle and save my vintage which is like 95% full.

Royal Mayfair I got in a set of samples from @papillo and while testing all the frags there were quite a few that caught my attention more than RM. However, the funny thing is RM is now one of the few I reach for the most. It's a natural smelling office/CEO type fragrance and has that standout note of Eucalyptus which smells unique and makes you feel relaxed. I have never smelled another fragrance with eucalyptus before. I don't get all the notes on fragrantica. Instead, what I get is something like Tom Ford Grey Vetiver, instead replacing the vetiver with a cool minty eucalyptus.

SOTN: testing Frapin Terre de Sarment

Interesting to see so many people on Fragrantica giving wildly contrasting interpretations of it.

Has a very aromatic fougere character on my skin, but it's oddly thick and strong where most in that category feel light and fleeting. I like the use of a grape accord in it as well. Stands out from the crowd.

Performance is meh, just like the other Frapins i've tried.

1725 is pretty good. A bit powdery like you said but I like vanilla in it.

I think I'll get Byredo Bal D"Afrique now, then Gypsy Water.

I can't cosign this one. Because they're so clearly not meant for the same situation. It's like comparing a Vetiver fragrance against an Oud fragrance. CH Men is great for day time, and Privé is the nighttime. (Pegasus & Layton). I enjoy both equally, just depends on the season and time of day really.

Nah mane, i'm a snob with everything. Watches, clothes, airport lounges, shoes, then also fragrances. I counted and my full bottle collection is 17, the rest are just highend samples. To be honest even 17 is too many considering all the other expensive chit i enjoy but i'm always always shopping for deals. That reminds me... Sloop have you triedPrada Luna Rossa Black? I was noticing that a lot of people find it similar to Midnight In Paris, which I know you like, and somebody said it smells like CAHSEE.

There's a dude on eBay who sells grouped 2ml designer decants sampler packs (5 different Chanels, 5 different Paco Rabannes, etc), I've bought from him before, solid seller. I just ordered a Prada Luna Rossa line sample pack from him, as I have yet to get my nose on those flankers.
