ive had a sample of it , its your MFK quality , smooth blend, excellent materials but its a classic barber shop scent.

Rive gauche is similiar , but i get a more "barbosol" type smell from rive as MP is more of a modern , classier take on barbershop.

I want to say Platinum Egoiste is similar but not the same but i havent had PE in awhile so dont quote me on that one lol

I have some Amyris Homme Extrait version and I just can't get over how confident it makes me feel. There's been times I have to go out but I'm unsure where we would go exactly or how the night would turn out. With Amyris I feel like I could tackle any scenario the night throws at me.

It's a sort of a slight coconutty, cinnamon gourmand sweetness with a hint of something that reminds you of iris.... but also with beautiful light musks that make it versatile. If you ever smelled Paco rabanne One Million, Amyris Extrait is like a tamed rich man's version. Much more refined and smooth. Compliment BEAST. This is up there with Layton for sure.

Well, I've never smelled possum urine, so I'll have to take you fellas' word on that one.


Opening is rather nice, smells like sweet apple cider and vanilla. Also has a pine note that reminds of Gypsy Water. Nutmeg and musk, and some white flower that I can't really identify. Much better than the cotton candy vomit train wreck that is BR540. (and in B4 Coleman negs)

Now there's a wood note creeping in, also something metallic. This is Gentle Fluidity Gold, I didn't ask for silver because many of the reviews mentioned a metallic smell, which is not high on my favored list.

Will report on drydown later.

Also, silver smells similar to gold, just less vanilla and a touch more juniper. They're literally the same notes, I don't get any metal.

Disagree, I think they're about as similar as CH Men and CH Men Privé.

Perhaps not that drastically different, but i think Gold has a lot more character. Silver is nice but there's a ton of other options that create a similar feel.

I think he might, especially since he really enjoys Valentino Noir Absolu. Not that they smell similar, but i tend to think if people like spicy/gourmands then they'll like grand soir. I didn't hate grand soir, but i didn't fall in love with it. Was just a touch too thick for my liking.
Nah, I'd say both silver and gold have almost no character lol. They smell nice but I feel like gold especially smells like something that needs to be layered. It's mostly a vanilla bomb. I feel like it lacks some body. Silver is a better balanced frag imo, but it doesn't smell as sexy as gold.

I reach for my silver more than gold tho.

Plenty of amber in this Gold. It's morphing into a nutty, woody playdough smell. Still has something in the background that smells fermented, like pink chablis or rose wine or something. At least the musk in this smells clean, not funky like ambergris or civet.

Yeah I definitely get that nutty quality. You already know that's something I like in frags. And the "fermented" part is just how Francis K does his musks. He likes to play with musk but I feel like he does it really tastefully. It's quite prominent but it doesn't come off in a nasty way.
I'll tell you one thing, women love this frag. I had a friend over before quarantine and told her to choose one sample from my MFK pouch to wear herself because we decided to eat out and that was the one she chose.

The drydown after a few hours smells almost identical toSweet Tobacco Spirits. Woody amber/vanilla with a hint of red wine. And I'll be honest with you, even though I don't really care for BR540, the few times I've worn it I almost always get compliments from women about it.

Yeah I think 540 is heavenly but that's because some ambergris doesn't bother me.

Have you tried the extrait? You don't get that salt/ambergris/mineral quality nearly as much. It's more dense and gourmand and nutty.
