That being said, assaulting a citizen does not warrant the death penalty. It seems reasonable to say that you would not want an officer to open fire on two bros fighting in the street simply to end the conflict by killing one of them.
IMO this isn't a justified shooting. I don't agree with the idea that because some guy has a badge he gets to play judge jury and execution in the street

I've said already though, that what the guy did was wrong. I just happen to think the extent the officer went in retaliation was also wrong. Would much rather he was apprehended or his vehicle was impounded after he ran away, and if possible charges were brought to him in a more formal manner.

Remember when the Baltimore police kinda stood-down a few years ago? It became the nation’s deadliest city. Hope this happens in every neighborhood where cops aren’t wanted.

I’m not arguing the taser part, but the cops shot him as he was running away, not during the part where he grabbed the weapon. It makes a world of difference in both context and legality.
He was at least 10 feet away from the cops and running in the opposite direction. How it plays out in the investigation will say a lot.
Is the guy the scumbag, absolutely. Is it justified? We’ll find out
edit:
this video changes my mind. I think it was justified.

i read about the story and was leaning to it being justified but seeing the vid IDK...there were 2 cops there...if it was a solo cop, you gotta keep yourself from getting incapped.
Also, tasers are not deadly in and of themselves and they are only single shot...
I was thinking it was a case of the cops thinking he had an actual gun...
if he was running.....you shouldnt be allowed to shoot someone in the back bc they can get away...
If the guy was wrestling on the ground and used a taser on a cop and in a situation where it was likely he could get an actual gun then i would view it as more justifiable..
If he shot the taser then it was already spent and needed to be loaded with a new cartridge, plus he was running away when they shot him...

all of those people are too stupid to think about what tazing the officer allows the dickhead to do. He could have gotten the cops gun and shot him. Because of this the cop kills the man. They all just think that getting tazed/= getting shot. I have a feeling these ****s also think they have privilege over the police.

Yeah, tasing a cop is a death sentence. That doesn't really change that America is so fked up right now.
Not keen on people using it as an excuse to riot and loot either , but the protests seem justified.
